Lonrho Placing for £ 2,499,286

The Board of Lonrho announces that the Company has raised £2,499,286, by way of a placing of 40,311,060 new ordinary shares of 1 pence each ("Placing Shares") in the share capital of the Company at 6.2 pence per Placing Share ("the Placing"). This equates to the outstanding headroom granted under the authority for the issue of new shares in the Company as approved at the Company's Annual General Meeting in 2012.

The Placing was made to H21 Macro Ltd and the proceeds from the Placing will be utilised as working capital to continue to grow the existing Group businesses.

Application has been made to the Financial Conduct Authority and The London Stock Exchange for a listing of 40,311,060 ordinary shares of 1p each to be admitted to the Official List, and admission is expected to take place on 10 April 2013. The new ordinary shares will, when issued, rank pari passu in all respects with the existing ordinary shares of the Company.

The total number of shares in issue following the issue of the Placing Shares is 1,653,415,048 ordinary shares with nominal value of 1p each, with voting rights. The Company does not hold any ordinary shares in Treasury.

Following admission, the above figure of 1,653,415,048 ordinary shares may be used by shareholders in the Company as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or change to their interest in, the share capital of the Company under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
