Leeds Building Society14 December 2005 14th December 2005 For Immediate Release Leeds Building Society appoints new non-executive director Leeds Building Society has appointed Carol Kavanagh as a non-executive director.Carol, 43, is Human Resources Director and one of only 9 directors on the mainboard at Argos Ltd, which has 650 stores and over 20,000 staff in the UK. Carol was born in Leeds and went on to Manchester University and NottinghamTrent University, where she achieved a BA (Hons) in Latin with French and an MAin Strategic Human Resource Management. During her successful career, Carol has gained over 20 years experience inretail and this will be her only non-executive appointment. She will continue inher senior role at Argos Ltd. Commenting on her appointment Carol said, "I was born in Leeds and have verystrong connections with the city. The opportunity to work for a highlysuccessful independent building society based in Leeds is particularly excitingand I look forward to strengthening and building even greater links in the area.
