DIRECTORS SHAREHOLDINGS

Johnston Press plc announces that further to the Rights Issue earlier this year, a number of changes are required to the number of options/awards and prices within the Group share schemes in accordance with the rules of those schemes.

The following directors and members of the Group Management Board have awards under the Share Matching Plan, the table below shows the awards pre and post the Rights Issue.

The following directors and members of the Group Management Board have awards under the Performance Share Plan, the table below shows the awards pre and post the Rights Issue.

The following member of the Group Management Board has awards under the 2001 Executive Share Option Scheme:

M A Vickers - awarded 2,806 shares at an option price of 356.5p on 24 April 2002, this has increased to 3,820 shares at a new option price of 261.85p.

M A Vickers - awarded 18,732 shares at an option price of 347p on 21 March 2003, this has increased to 25,502 shares at a new option price of 254.88p.

The following Directors have existing share options under the Savings Related Share Option Scheme as per the table below: 

Also under the Restricted Share Scheme for Tim Bowdler there were 24,272 outstanding options under this scheme prior to the Rights Issue, this has increased to 33,045 outstanding options.
