Resignation of Director

Dublin/London - 12 June 2012: Independent News & Media PLC ("INM" or "the Company") announces that Mr. David Reid-Scott has today resigned as a Director of the Company with immediate effect.

As the number of Directors of the Company has now fallen below the minimum level of 5 required under the Company's Articles of Association the Company confirms that steps will be taken as soon as practicable to make additional appointment(s) to the Board.
