10 December 2012, Dublin/London: Independent News & Media PLC ("INM" and/or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Harrison to the Board of Independent News & Media PLC as a non-executive Director with immediate effect.
David Harrison is Chief Executive of Intuition Publishing Limited. Intuition is the largest provider of specialised online education and knowledge management products to the investment banking and financial markets sectors. David is non executive Chairman of GOS Holdings Limited and a non executive Director of Rapt Holdings Limited. Mr Harrison is a nominee of Mr Dermot Desmond who has a shareholding of 6.36% in the Company.
David is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and completed the Leadership 4 Growth Chief Executive Programme with Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
David was Chief Financial Officer of Intuition Publishing Group from 1998 to 1999 and prior to that he held a senior management position with Irish Food Processors from 1994 to 1998. Prior to that David trained in public practice with BDO Simpson Xavier.
