Result of AGM
At the Annual General Meeting of Biofutures held today, all resolutions were duly passed.
David Yeoh, Executive Chairman, made the following statement at the meeting:
"I would like to commence the meeting with an update on developments in the Company's business. Since the mandate given by the shareholders to change the Company into an investment company last year, the Company has actively pursued the re-engineering of the earlier planned Bio-diesel Project into a Palm Oil Refining Project. Details of these activities have been announced to the market and further explained in the latest Annual Report and include the obtaining of an additional licence from the Malaysian Authorities to carry out the refining of Crude Palm Oil and the awarding of the contract for the construction of the refinery to WS Bioengineering Pte Ltd ("WS Bio"). WS Bio will commence the piling works as soon as building approval from the local authorities has been given and this is expected by the end of June. WS Bio expects the refinery to be completed by the 2nd quarter of 2010. Progress of the construction of the refinery will be posted on our website for those who are interested in following developments."
