Filing of DRHP with SEBI

Great Eastern Energy Corporation Limited ("Great Eastern Energy" or " the Company"), a company involved in the exploration, development and production of coal bed methane in India, is pleased to inform that further to the Extra Ordinary General Meeting held on September 8, 2008, the Company has filed the Draft Red Herring Prospectus ("DRHP") on Friday, December 26, 2008 with the Securities and Exchange Board of India ("SEBI") to list its equity shares on the Indian Stock Exchanges ("Indian IPO"), subject to market conditions and other considerations.
