The Board of First Derivatives plc ("First Derivatives" or the "Company") announces that Michael O'Neill, will stand down from his Executive Director responsibilities and will become a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 20 May 2009. 

Mr O'Neill joined the Company in 1997 and, together with Brian Conlon, has overseen First Derivatives develop into a global technology business with sales of over £17.5 million, employing 143 in Northern Ireland and a total of 243 around the world. Mr O'Neill will remain as Non-Executive Director and has committed to provide consultancy services to the Company over the next two years as a minimum.

Brian Conlon, Chief Executive Officer stated: "Michael was a founding member of First Derivatives and over the years has made a substantial contribution to the Company from its infancy through flotation and more recently helping deliver our acquisition strategy. I am pleased that Michael has agreed to take a position on the Board as a Non-Executive Director and will continue to contribute to the success of First Derivatives on a consultancy basis.

Mr O'Neill added: "It has been a privilege to be at the forefront of the First Derivatives success story for the past 12 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed working closely with a multitude of very talented colleagues who have contributed to this success and I would like to sincerely thank them for their support over the years. I believe the Company's prospects are as bright as at any time in its history and I look forward to facilitating further growth as a Non Executive Director."
