Appointment of Chairman
Devro, one of the world's leading manufacturers of collagen products for the food industry, announces the appointment of Steve Good as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 1 June 2019. Steve will also chair the Nomination Committee, and become a member of the Executive Directors' Remuneration Committee from that date.
Steve has been Chairman of Zotefoams plc since 2016, having been first appointed as a Non-Executive Director in 2014. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Dialight plc, and Elementis plc, where he also chairs the Remuneration Committee. Until 2017 Steve was a Non-Executive director of Cape plc and Chairman of its Remuneration Committee. He plans to take steps to reduce his Board commitments in the course of the next twelve months.
During his earlier executive career, Steve held various leadership positions in international industrial businesses. These included Group Chief Executive at Low & Bonar plc, a polymer engineering group, between 2009 and 2014, and various positions over a ten year timespan managing international speciality chemicals businesses at BTP plc (now part of Clariant). Steve is a chartered accountant.
There are no further matters to be disclosed pursuant to Rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules in respect of Steve's appointment.
Other Consequent Board Change
On Steve's appointment as Non-Executive Chairman taking effect on 1 June 2019, Non-Executive Director, Paul Withers will cease to be interim Chairman of the Company, a position he has fulfilled since the conclusion of our AGM on 25 April 2019. Paul will continue to be our Senior Independent Director and Chair of our Executive Directors' Remuneration Committee after 1 June.
