Danka Business Systems PLC07 June 2005 For immediate release 7th June 2005 Danka Business Systems PLC ("the Company") Holding in Company The Company was notified on 6th June 2005 that as at close of business on 3rdJune 2005, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. ("GS Inc."), of 85 Broad Street, NewYork, NY 10004, USA, increased its total interest in the Company to 13,013,109shares representing 5.2% of the Company's issued Ordinary Share capital. Of these 13,013,109 shares, a) An interest in 12,038,564 shares arose from the interest held by Goldman Sachs & Co. ("GS&Co."), a direct subsidiary of GS Inc., acting as custodian of 3,009,641 American Depositary Receipts ("ADRs"). These ADRs are, or will be, held at The Depositary Trust Company, New York ("DTC"). b) An interest in 359,352 shares arose from GS&Co. acting as discretionary manager and custodian of 89,838 ADRs. These ADRs are, or will be, held at DTC. c) An interest in 560,000 shares arose from a beneficial interest of 140,000 ADRs held by Goldman Sachs International ("GSI"), a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc. These ADRs are, or will be, held at DTC. d) An interest in 55,193 shares arose from a beneficial interest held by GSI.
