Appointment of Non-Executive Director
The Board of DiamondCorp Plc ("DiamondCorp" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr John Hulme Scholes (Hulme Scholes) as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from August 1st 2013.
Hulme Scholes BiographyHulme Scholes (Born 1966) is a leading South African attorney with his primary focus being mining and mineral law. Before studying Law at Wits University in Johannesburg he completed his National Service and a year working for Rand Mines on the Harmony Gold Mine. He completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree (1990) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree (1992).
Over the past 20 years he has been a Partner at three law firms and is now a Director of Malan Scholes Attorneys practising exclusively in the field of Mining and Mineral Law.
He is a Director of Aquarius Platinum (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd, West Wits Mining Ltd, Randgold & Exploration Company Ltd and Lace Diamond Mines (Pty) Ltd.
Commenting on the announcement DiamondCorp's Chairman, Euan Worthington said "I am very pleased that Hulme Scholes has accepted our invitation to join the Board of DiamondCorp. He has been advising the Company since 2005 when we acquired rights to the Lace diamond mine. As a highly regarded and experienced attorney focussed on Mining and Mineral Law in South Africa, Hulme brings valuable local knowledge to the Company as we move towards diamond production."
At the same time, George Morton is retiring as a Non-Executive Director and the Board would like to thank him for his valuable support and counsel over recent years.
