Daniel Stewart Securities PLC22 August 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 22 AUGUST 2007 Daniel Stewart Securities Plc (AIM) ("Daniel Stewart" or "the Company") APPOINTMENTS STRENGTHEN DANIEL STEWART RESEARCH CAPABILITY As part of its strategy to widen its research capability, the Board of DanielStewart is pleased to announce a number of new appointments: Tim Heeley, MikeJeremy, Mike Stoddart, Ian Wild and Siral Shah. Tim Heeley, 33, joined Daniel Stewart as an Oil and Gas Analyst with 8 yearsexperience in the oil and gas industry and will focus on under-researchedcompanies with the potential to grow into sustainable or saleable businesses inthe short/medium term. Tim spent 2 years as a senior analyst at Panmure Gordonfocusing on undervalued/under researched AIM companies. Tim left Panmure Gordonmid 2006 to join Standard Bank to strengthen the Oil and Gas team and buildequity and advisory businesses. Tim has a Civil Engineering degree and is aregistered Chartered Engineer. He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate inManagement and is currently undertaking an MSc in Petroleum Engineering. Mike Jeremy, 50, joined the equity research team and will cover IT and Telecoms,previously having been Head of Telecoms research (W. Europe) at ING WholesaleBanking, responsible for KPN, France Telecom, BT Group, Deutsche Telekom and thesector view. At ING (Barings) Mike spent 9 years in Japan as Technology analystand was rated No.1 for 4 years, headed Central & E Europe Telecom research andhas worked on telecom financing worldwide. Mike holds a PhD from the Universityof Manchester. Mike Stoddart, 44, has over 20 years experience as a research analyst - as abroker covering equities and, recently, covering credit and will be coveringIndustrials and the General Small Cap market. Mike has worked on a number ofsuccessful large equity placings including Stagecoach, Mersey Docks & HarbourCompany and Ocean Group. His work as the Head of Credit Research at theCo-operative Insurance Society gave him a wide experience of complex financingstructures and instruments. Ian Wild, 46, will be covering Property having previously covered the AIMProperty sector for Seymour Pierce where he wrote a comprehensive fact book onthe sector. Prior to this, Ian spent 20 years as an analyst at Barclays and morerecently SG Securities, where he became Head of Research in their Hong Kongdivision. Ian has a first class degree in Statistics and Operational Researchfrom UMIST. Siral Shah, 27, joins Daniel Stewart as a Trainee Analyst. Siral has mostrecently been working in Deloitte's Banking and Securities Group where he hasspecialised in the valuation of unlisted and private equity investments. He hasalso worked at Soc Gen, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs. Siral has a BSc inEconomics and is a qualified chartered accountant. Daniel Stewart now has 9 analysts in its Research Department and covers 150companies across 11 different sectors.
