Smiths News PLC ("the Group"), the UK's leading wholesaler of newspapers, magazines and books, is pleased to announce that Jonathan Bunting, currently Chief Commercial Officer has been promoted to Managing Director of Smiths News, effective 1 May 2012.
In addition to his role as Managing Director of Smiths News, Jon will have executive accountability for the Group's Media and Marketing businesses (DMD and DMS), that were recently acquired as part of the Dawson Holdings acquisition in August 2011.
Jon will also remain an Executive Director of the Company and member of the Board of Smiths News PLC.
In his new role Jon will continue to report to Mark Cashmore, Group Chief Executive. The Group's Corporate Development team will report directly into Mark Cashmore from the point that Jon takes on his new responsibilities.
