5 September 2006 COMMUNISIS PLC APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE The Board of Communisis plc announces that Steve Vaughan (46) has beenappointed Chief Executive of the Group. He will take up his post on 4 October2006 and will succeed David Jones who announced in April that he would standdown as Chief Executive once a successor had been appointed.Steve Vaughan has wide management experience and a strong track record inoutsourcing, major contracts and systems & technology. He was Group ChiefExecutive of Synstar PLC from 2001 to 2005 and oversaw its restructuring,growth and return to profit. From 1996 he held a number of senior roles at EDS(UK) Ltd, latterly as Managing Director of its UK industry division. In early2006 he held the post of Chief Executive of Misys Banking Systems.Mike Smith, Chairman of Communisis plc, commented:"The Board has conducted an exhaustive search for the right individual and I'mglad to say that Steve Vaughan has agreed to join as Chief Executive. He hassignificant experience of the technology industry, most recently as Group CEOof Synstar plc, the pan-European IT service provider which is now part ofHewlett Packard.Previously he held a range of roles at EDS (UK) Ltd, the global IT servicesoutsourcing company, latterly as Managing Director, where he had responsibilityfor the industry division. His prior career involved many aspects of systemsdevelopment, outsourcing and project management in fields as diverse as AirTraffic Control, the police and manufacturing.
