Churchill Mining plc30 June 2006 CHURCHILL MINING PLC ("Churchill" or "the Company") SRK Appointed Technical Supervisor to Sendawar Coal Project, Indonesia The Directors of Churchill Mining Plc (AIM: CHL) are pleased to announce thatthe Company has appointed SRK Consulting ("SRK"), one of the world's leadingexploration and mining consulting firms, to act as Technical Supervisor to theSendawar thermal coal project in Kalimantan, Indonesia. SRK, which will also act for Churchill in the Competent Person's role, has aspecialist Coal Mining division with expertise in all aspects of coal fromgeological interpretation and modeling, deposit evaluation and resourceestimation, to all aspects of economic evaluation and mining implementation.SRK's experience encompasses the world's major coal regions including;Australia, China, India, Indonesia and Russia. SRK's consulting team is led by the company's principal coal geologist, PatHanna, along with the support of two senior Indonesian coal geologists. Under the terms of appointment, SRK will assist the Company in its planning andreporting as well as supervise Churchill's exploration manager PT GMT Indonesia,which is running the Sendawar program on a day-by-day basis. Both SRK and PT GMTIndonesia are highly experienced in managing exploration projects in Kalimantan. The Sendawar project covers approximately 1000 square kilometers and the Companywill shortly award the tender for the initial drilling programme, consisting of100 diamond holes, which is anticipated to run from the beginning of August 2006to the end of February 2007. The Sendawar Project's northern ground is considered a focal point because itabuts the privately-owned Gunung Bayan mine, which has been operating since 1998and produces approximately 3.4 million tonnes per annum of quality thermal coal.Gunung Bayan's resource position is greater than 300 million tonnes. South Woodie Woodie The South Woodie Woodie managanese project covers approximately 490 squarekilometres in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. Owned via ChurchillMining's wholly-owned subsidiary, Planet Mining Pty Ltd, the project sitsapproximately 400km southeast of Port Hedland in the highly prospective Pilbaramanganese province. Churchill owns the project 100%. The company recentlycompleted a 6,600 line kilometre airborne magnetics program at South WoodieWoodie and will drill its first target area, Enacheddong, Creek in July 2006. Sendawar Churchill Mining is exploring for coal in Indonesia at the Sendawar project inKalimantan. The project covers more than 1,000 km2 of prospective ground andlies in close proximity to two operating open-cut mines: Thai miner Banpu'snewly commissioned Trubaindo operation, which will be shortly producing at arate of approximately six million tones per annum (tpa); and the privately-ownedGunung Bayan mine which has been operating since 1998 and produces approximately3.4 million tpa. Coal from these mines is transported via barge via the MahakamRiver to the port of Samarinda. The Sendawar project is located approximately50km from the Mahakam River.
