Carr's (CRM.L), the agriculture, food and engineering group, announces that director, Ron Wood, has informed the Board of his decision to retire on 30 April 2013. He will resign from the Board and relinquish his position as Finance Director with effect from 30 April 2013. His successor, Neil Austin, will join Carr's to work with Ron Wood from 1 January 2013 and will be appointed Finance Director on 1 May 2013.

Neil Austin, aged 36 years, is currently a Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Newcastle, having joined Price Waterhouse in 1997 and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He has extensive UK and international corporate experience having advised a range of clients spanning consumer and industrial products, financial services, and the public sector, including multi-nationals. He holds a degree in Economics and Management Studies from Jesus College, Cambridge.

There is no information concerning Neil Austin which requires disclosure under Rule LR 9.6.13 of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules.

Ron Wood will resign as Company Secretary with effect from 1 January 2013. The current Assistant Company Secretary, Katie Sinclair, will take over as Company Secretary with effect from that date.

During that time, he has made an exceptional contribution to the development of Carr's while fulfilling his role, frequently in challenging circumstances. He has effectively assisted the Chairman and the Board through the expansion of the Group and he has overseen and helped to grow our engineering activities, which have become an increasingly significant contributor to Group profit.

We are delighted that Neil Austin has accepted our invitation to join the Board as Finance Director and that Ron will work closely with him to ensure a smooth transition.

I would also like to congratulate Katie on her appointment as Company Secretary following two years with Carr's."
