Avocet Mining PLC11 July 2007 Directorate Changes Avocet Mining PLC ("Avocet" or "the Company"), the gold production andexploration company with assets focused on South East Asia, announces theappointment of Mike Norris as Finance Director with immediate effect. Inaddition, Mr Gordon Toll has stepped down from the board to pursue his otherbusiness interests. Andrew Michael Norris (aged 42) worked for the L.E.K. Consulting firm ofstrategic management consultants before qualifying as a chartered accountantwith Coopers & Lybrand. He has significant business experience in theextractive industry, having held a number of senior financial and operationalroles within Rio Tinto plc and Anglo American plc. These include Head ofFinancial Planning and Analysis for the Anglo group and CFO at two of Rio'smines in the US as well as production manager at one of them, an open pit goldoperation. In the past five years Mike Norris has held no directorships. There is no other information that is required to be disclosed pursuant toSchedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM rules.
