African Platinum Plc28 June 2006 African Platinum plc ("the company")Ticker : APPIndex : AIMSector : Exploration NOTICE OF EGM; RESOURCE UPDATE London, 28 June 2006 - The Board of African Platinum confirms that it hasreceived a Special Notice on behalf of North Sound Legacy Institutional Fund LLCand North Sound Legacy International Ltd requisitioning a meeting to consider aresolution to remove Mr C.L. Hansard as a Director of the Company. TheDirectors will be preparing and posting a circular to shareholders in relationto this requisition. It is the Directors unanimous intention to advise shareholders to vote againstany such resolution as they fully support Mr Hansard in his role as Chairman andfirmly believe that passing the resolution would not be in the best interests ofthe Company or its shareholders. The Company is well placed to develop its flagship Leeuwkop project havingcompleted its exploration work, the definitive feasibility study and havingappointed appropriate advisers. The drilling of the Greater Leeuwkop area isalso complete and will be included in an updated resource statement which isscheduled for release on 3rd July. Commenting on the announcement, Roy Pitchford, Chief Executive said "The Companybelieves it is following the right path to build Afplats into a premier platinumcompany. The Board is unanimous in its intention to advise shareholders to voteagainst this disruptive resolution proposed by North Sound."
