Appointment of a Non-Executive Director
Allergy Therapeutics (AIM: AGY), the fully integrated specialty pharmaceutical company specialising in allergy vaccines, is pleased to announce that it has appointed with immediate effect Dr. Thomas Lander, as a Non-Executive Director with European regulatory experience.
Dr Thomas Lander will replace Dr Virinder Nohria, and will be responsible for overseeing the Company's research and development activities. Dr Nohria retires from the Board on 30 June 2012, as Non-Executive Director.
Thomas has more than 25 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He has held a number of senior management positions with international pharmaceutical companies including Boehringer Ingelheim, NovoNordisk and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Thomas was European Medical Director of GlaxoWellcome until the merger that resulted in GlaxoSmithKline before he became Global Head of Clinical Development and Chief Medical Officer of Merck KGaA (now MerckSerono). He was appointed Managing Director of CureVac GmbH in 2006. Since 2009 he has been working as an independent strategic consultant.
