Director/PDMR Shareholding Notification
Cambridge, UK: Abcam (AIM: ABC, "Abcam" or the "Company"), a global leader in the supply of life science research tools, was notified on 28 September 2018 that on 28 September 2018 Dr Jonathan Milner, a Non-Executive Director of the Company and persons closely associated with Dr Milner sold, in aggregate, 1,147,243 ordinary shares of 0.2 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"). In addition, the Company was notified that a further 70,000 Ordinary Shares have been transferred by Dr Milner to The Evolution Education Trust, of which he is a trustee.
These transactions are for tax and estate planning. Dr Milner continues to remain committed to the Company as a member of Abcam's board in his role as Deputy Chairman.

As a result of the transactions described above, Dr Milner's total direct and indirect interest in the Company has decreased to a total of 19,745,025 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 9.63% of the Company's issued share capital.
The Notification of Dealing Forms for each of these transactions are provided below. This announcement is made in accordance with Article 19 of the EU Market Abuse Regulation 596/2014.
