UBC Media Group PLC30 August 2005 UBC Media Group plc 30 August 2005 UBC Media Group plc launches Network News syndicated package UBC Media Group plc today announced its appointment by Chrysalis Group plc andUlster TV plc's The Wireless Group ("TWG") subsidiary to act as the sales-pointfor a new syndicated news bulletin airtime package. The announcement follows the renewal by Chrysalis Radio of its deal with SkyNews as supplier of national and international news. Chrysalis Radio has, forthe past three years, had a news supply contract with both IRN and Sky News, andthis renewed deal with Sky News brings to an end Chrysalis' contract with IRN.Sky News also supplies its news service to talkSPORT. UBC Media's syndicated programming strands are provided to commercial radiogroups in exchange for airtime, creating a national solus advertisingopportunity for major clients which currently include BSkyB, Renault, the FordMotor Company, the AA, the RAC, P&G and Sainsbury's. At its launch on 1st October 2005, UBC Media's Network News package will have aweekly reach of 5 million UK adults and capture 27 million impacts. It will becarried on all radio stations in the Chrysalis portfolio (including Heart 106.2and LBC in London and the Galaxy network) and TWG's national speech radiostation talkSPORT. The Network News package adds a third and potentially lucrative airtime salesopportunity to UBC Media's Commercial Division, which is already one of thelargest providers of syndicated programming to commercial radio in the UK. It currently offers advertisers a total of 169 million adult impacts per weekacross radio stations owned by major broadcasters such as Chrysalis, GCap Mediaand GMG. The Network Drive traffic and travel package feeds 174 stations and hasa reach of 15 million individuals and 140 million impacts. The EntertainmentNews package is supplied to 121 stations with a reach of 8.5 million individualsand 27.5 million impacts.
