Launch of Apple iTunes tagging in UK with Absolute Radio
UBC Media Group plc (AIM: UBC, "UBC", "the Company"), the media industry content and software supplier, is pleased to announce today's launch by Absolute Radio of "iTunes Tagging" in the UK.
Absolute Radio Breakfast Show DJ Christian O'Connell this morning launched the brand new service for listeners. It will allow them to 'tag' songs they hear on the station, find out what the track's called and who it's by, and then purchase them through the iTunes Store.
The iPod nano now features a built-in FM radio with iTunes Tagging. When users hear a song they like on Absolute Radio on 105.8FM in London, they can simply tag it and then preview and purchase that song when they next sync to iTunes.
Unique Interactive, UBC's software division, has implemented the technology at Absolute Radio, enabling the station to be the first in Europe to bring this service to its listeners.
UBC now plans to roll out implementation of iTunes tagging throughout Europe.
