I remember one day the share price went UP over 60% in one day. Back in February these shares were 38p, I'm certain they will eventually be well over that. Annoying they're down (unless you take the opportunity to top up!), but I'm sure our patience will be rewarded.
I'm no "expert" when it comes to share dealing, far from it. So I do my research the best I can and admit I really rely on other so called "experts" for ideas and advice. So I invested here. I'm now over 70% in the red. However, a similar situation occurred some years ago when I invested in OMI. I bought, then they gradually descended till they were 80% down. Luckily I didn't sell them as they by then weren't worth selling, but they flew up suddenly and I'm now happy with that situation. Hopefully the same will happen with ORM. Or have I wasted my money? Time will tell. But one thing I have learnt, is there are definitely no "experts". Good luck everyone.
I remember not long ago this way way higher and a lot of people were saying it's going to be 60p soon. In that thought I was planning on getting a newer car by June. I could afford an electric bike so far on my profit! Does anyone feel this is likely to be 60p soon? Would be nice! ??
6% up is good to see. I bought in to OMI over two years ago and saw my investment sink to 80% in the red. I practically gave up on it. Then it rocketed, and I was much richer for a while, not selling any as people were saying it's heading for a pound a share! I was thinking I'll be buying a new car this year on the profits! Then it sank yet again. Luckily I'm still in profit a bit, and hopefully things will turn around again and 40p at least will return again, maybe a pound a share even. I hope. But one thing I've learnt more than anything is to be patient. It seems that the patient ones eventually get rewarded in the end.
I bought in not long ago, partly I must admit because of the buzz that was going on, and currently I'm at a loss. Do I care? No. I'm sensible and hopefully intelligent enough to have learned that at the end of the day there really are no experts in predicting what are the best shares to buy. None. Buying shares is in effect a gamble, you weigh up the pros and cons, the possibilities and probabilities as best you can and take that gamble that your £200 or £5000 or £100000 or whatever you want to invest is going to hopefully double in value in a week or month or year. It's what we all want. However, it's by far the easiest thing to get caught up in the wave of hysteria that a lot of these boards generate - good or bad, it doesn't matter which. Ok, I'm at a paper loss, but I don't care, the reason being is that all shares go up and they go down. Jump ship and you could drown, stay onboard and you may go down with the ship anyway. But who knows? I don't, and remember that absolutely no one on any of these boards for any shares know either. You simply cannot predict everything that may await around the next corner. As I said, I won't be selling, and unless I sell some other shares I won't be buying any more! Spread the risk in at least a few different companies is my only advice, but who am I to advise? I'm no expert either...
It's all too easy to get involved in a share with so many people exclaiming "get in quick, it's going to rocket!" and "the price won't be this low ever again!" Well it didn't rocket, and the price is even lower! I'm at a loss of 20% if I sell, which of course I won't. Thank God I've got more shares in OMI to counteract the loss. However, it's reminding me of OMI a bit when I first bought in a couple of years ago when those shares were on a rise. I bought in and the next day they went down and down over a two year period and eventually I was at an 80% loss! It was so bad that when I needed some money for something else, I looked at the OMI shares and they so low I just forgot about them! I'm so glad I did, today they are 150% in profit, and rising. Maybe PAT will go down more, and yes we're all unhappy with that, but maybe just forgetting about them for a month or two might be a good idea. Or six months? If it's going to rocket, it will. My only advice is learning to be patient is a harder skill than buying shares in the first place. Whatever the share is.
This sudden fall is a typical reaction, and won't last long. I can understand why some people get out, they'll probably get back in in a few days. What I do find annoying though is the constant "great opportunity to top up!" messages on all the bb's, it's only good for those that are lucky enough to have the funds to do so. The rest of us have to take a loss (I'm now in the red!), and hope and pray it turns around again. Which it will.
I'm newish to GGP, most of my shares are in OMI and PAT and some others, but thanks to all you helpful and clever people I've got in here after reading your good advice. I'm 50% in profit, nowhere near as much as many of you, of course I wish I'd got in much much sooner but I can't complain, it's still a big return for a short time! This is my very first post, I just wanted to say thank you, and wish you a happy and prosperous New Year!
