I have complete faith in Shell and BP. Admittedly, I have good average prices for both but if anyone thinks that oil will evaporate from use within the next 20 years, then they should stop investing lol. I am not saying that renewables aren’t the way forward and in fact I have shares in “greener” companies but these 2 huge giants of the oil industry surely know better than us, the common investor. Does anyone on here know how many other companies shell and BP are affiliated with and how many other companies they own under their umbrellas, and this is where DYOR comes into effect!! Once renewable energy becomes the norm (supposedly within the next generation) then in my humble opinion it will be huge companies such as these two that will be at the forefront of it all and be leading the way. Keep hold of your shares Jay and you will get back in profit mate.
Forzeb, I had 10000 shares at 17p and sold them at 22p like a clown to invest into oil as I thought that oil had hit rock bottom and this was going nowhere and that was around 6/8 weeks ago. I still keep AFC on my watchlist so that every morning I can slap myself in the face lol.
I rarely post on these boards and I am also a recent investor, having been in since April. I’ve also been on this rollercoaster and am now mainly in the oil shares BP & RDSB. I feel that holding onto these shares and not cashing them all in when oil was in the dumps has cost me money but having sliced half of these shares for oil I am happy to see where this ends up. One lesson that I have learned though is never fall in love with a share lol
Bimmer668, I can’t see 1180, where do you get that figure from? I am also looking to top up but can’t see 1180 so I’m just asking the question to determine my entry point
Have you any info on this
That is all :-)!!
Good to see you back in CJ and I feel like I’m still dreaming over the rapid price upturn of this beautiful share lol. In regards to other shares I’m also in Aviva and L&G, but don’t you all think that RDSB and BP are complete steals at the moment? I’m in both and down on both of them but that’s where all my funds will be funnelled in the short term future and I think that these will be flying soon
You made a brave choice CJ and in hindsight we’d all be rich. Many a times I’ve thought about day trading a particular share, but it’s a full time job in my eyes and for me, not worth the stress. I’m long on this one and have watched profits rise and disappear so I applaud you for going with your instincts. I still think that there will be a retrace so I reckon that you can get in below 190 easy especially with the UT that’s come through. Good luck in whatever you do fella.
Sorry slippytoad I though you had inside info, my bad. I’m
In two minds whether to top up now as today halved my profits but like you have all said, there is a lot too look forward too and this could now be a holy edged chance to fill out boots. Good luck to anyone invested.
I wouldn’t touch SYME with a barge pole and I’d also take all points on a forum board with a pinch of salt. I’m in with boohoo and William Hill which are doing very nicely and now I’m turning my attention to the oil companies, especially BP and RDSB. Whatever you decide, like everyone says, do your own research and good luck
I’m in at 298 and still feel your pain Costa. I’m getting in the mindset of averaging down but where is the bottom. That’s the one answer that if we knew would make us all rich. 240 was roughly the level at the crash so we can’t get much closer to COVID levels. Keep the faith and hold hold hold.
Usually after such a great couple of weeks the price retraces but looking at the UT at 163.50 I cannot wait for 8.00am Monday morning. Everyone invested in WMH, put your feet up, have a few beers (cheers) and have a bet!!
A bit miffed that I missed out on CINE after it being on my watchlist for a while (and my brother just made a ****load after buying in the mid 30s lol) but all the tips on here for other companies gives me some great leads to follow and research during the evening. Keep up the good work people and well done everyone in CINE.
