Check the deficit vs gdp almost 17% vs 6% now. On way US has any chance to slowing/replaying this is by lower repayments, which is exactly why trump is enacting this Tarrifs. The buying of bonds will reduce interest, renegotiate the loan payments, increase domestic productivity etc etc etc.
