..... cant say you were not warned.
A number of brokers have been busy downgrading this.
Why confused? They plan on getting rid of 20% of the company therefore the dividend will drop 20%. You will own shares in the new company however which may pay a dividend so in effect the amount u receive may stay the same overall.
.... Costa. Presume this is the reason for the rise. Personally id prefer Whitbread kept it, but hey ho, all short termism these days.
Always nice to see a positive trading update first thing in a morning :)
U guys are unbelieveable. Talk about flogging a dead horse
I order lots from them and never had an issue.
Hi Anyone know the reason for the sudden drop this morning?
Your right and have been right for years. Its scary how easily some folk can be convinced to i vest in a company that has never made a profit. How on earth do they think the company can continue to function without fresh cash which simply dilutes their holdings.
I agree it shouod not be acceptable. Sadly this is the case for many working people so Whitbread is hardly on its own.
Hi. Thanks. At what point would i be considered as to having pledged my shares to Melrose though? Presumably this would occur if i selected one of the 3 ootions barclays is giving me? So therefore id be best doing nothing for now?
Nope. But i presume its going to be about staff being under pressure to clean rooms quickly etc. I can't imagine its worse than other hotels, nor can i see it stopping people visiting budget hotels.
I've top sliced, mainly because GVC has been one of my best investments over the last few years which had resulted in it accounting for a good percentage of my portfolio. I thought it best to sell a few and diversify a bit.
i'd wait till it makes a profit. Until then the only way it can survive is debt or cash calls from shareholders, both of which will lose you money.
Hi. My Barclays account is asking me to make a decision regarding which option I take regarding the unsolicited offer from Melrose. Has everyone else had this? What happens if I don't chose. Am I still ok to sell my shares if i wish? Thanks
You realise i was joking? IC doesnt have the best rec ord when it comes to tips. Shares normally go down after they have tipped them.
Hi, Is there a withholding tax regarding dividends paid on this? Thanks
5% down. Its to be expected after an IC tip lol. Hate to say it but we will prob be down 50% by the end of the week.
I plan on sitting tight. It was bought as a long term hold so unless they start announcing huge losses ill hold.
Im just enjoying the rise. Hope it lasts.
