Kenstaff - Good work soldier !!! I read that just after you posted it... Been taking a look at IGAS and EDR boards these last couple of days, fantastic news for everyone invested there (well done). Have to say that I thought maybe some of the shake money would be tipping in here at a greater rate of knots but maybe we are opting for the more civilised and gentile stroll up !!? PS - I also read another ramp from a different person promoting ALK on a separate board today... You been moonlighting fella ... LOL. Anyway, good to see us sat nicely at Wooly's target price so soon.... Anything more is just a bonus from here boys and girls .... Enjoy the moment.
Algy knows the ropes ... used to hold CLF and made a few quid there until they changed their name then unfortunately it was a downhill ride as AMA ... should have just lumped it all in here (live & learn). ALK seems to be marking time just now, getting ready for the next run at 49p ... choo choo !
There are certainly some bigger fish swimming in our little pond these days... Holdings Increased : Hargreaves Lansdown Stockbrokers Ltd. +907.00k Pension Services Ltd. +4.00m Jarvis Investment Management Ltd. +1.47m Barclays Bank Plc (Private Banking) +1.41m Alliance Trust Investments Ltd. +1.33m Holdings Decreased : Smith & Williamson Investment Management LLP -908.00k Harwood Capital LLP -800.00k Brewin Dolphin Ltd. -517.00k Hargreave Hale Ltd. -1.64m Henderson Global Investors Ltd. -1.34m Short answer to your question is that nobody really knows, all I would say is that 47-49p should be within reach sooner rather than later IMHO. I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that ALK are being looked at by predatory eyes ... then things could really hot up !!! GL & BW - Wooly ;o)
Think things with Aberdeen are firmly on hold... my personal guess being that we may seek to realise the value of those assets via heavy farm down or maybe even sale of some CBM acreage. NOTE - Mr Money is doing his absolute best to keep everyone guessing as to the 'True' direction of recent volumes which I note are transacting in larger bundles at present ... Sneeky beggars !!! Hope you keeping well Kenstaff (Great work on IGAS, hope they hit big time as will be great ALK also).
B.S.Pensions now holding a nice round 4m shares ... I must have a chat with my fund manager and point him in the correct direction, if only more Insti's would wake up to this hidden gem ! Spotted an Alkane Energy company pickup in my local Costco carpark yesterday ... hopefully was filling it with discounted champagne ready to celebrate some more good news !? Cheers Wooly
CHOOOO CHOOOO !!! (The Alkane Express has left the station). Kenstaff - You need to persuading a few more of your IGAS pals to spend some of their hard earned in here ... has done the trick so far !! Certainly seems that 40p resistance has given way and should now form solid support IMO... onward and upward to the next level which will be defined clearly in Mr Money's mind (My guess 47-49p) ? Glad to have been on-board this particular train since 2007, is my best performing stock along with GNC ... another absolute belter but in a very different sector (Check it out) !! GLA and long may this rise last ... well done all that are holding and congrats to any newbies just getting in. Wooly ;o)
Just been looking through trade history over last few days... some heathy trades dripping through but not having huge impact on SP or spread for that matter. Only conclusion I can draw is that some one or some people are having massive orders filled at the current price range(39-40p) !! Still expect deeper shake to help free up additional stock at some point before next push... hold tight and add on dips. Time will tell. GLA Wooly
Yup... check out my posts dated 29th Oct and 7th Nov (latter gives link to all ALK licences and ownership thereof). Looks like there are plenty of buyers sitting just off the Bid, I am ready to add more if Mr Money shakes us any harder before we make the next push as per my previous posts. What are peoples thoughts regarding potential T/O price if (big IF) one of the majors comes knocking on the door with cheque book in hand, very interested in your views guys ?
That's the spirit Kenstaff, you must have read my mind (Buy on the dips) !! Still more shaking to come in here, I did warn that they would have a go but feel that today might be just the appetiser so to speak. Tech support sitting 34-35p but more likely just under 37p will be tested before next drive at Broker targets. Must make ready to load more luggage on the Alkane Express prior to departure from platform 36 and a bit !! GLA Wooly
Are the sizeable buys of today perhaps partially to blame for weeks languishing around the 39-40p level ? I had thought that there was an order being worked in the background but had also anticipated that Mr Money would have needed a more aggressive shake to free up enough stock to fill a big'un !! Maybe there were more than enough who had made good money on the way up to 40p to do the trick, plus the Doctor sliced a fair chunk recently too ... Was it his decision or was he persuaded to reduce ? Question (open to all with sensible & reasoned opinion) .... What would ALK sell out for ?
February 2012 we announced a potential Coal Bed Methane ("CBM") joint venture with Aberdeen Drilling Management. After a comprehensive appraisal of the geological constraints, resource potential and commercial viability of CBM in the area under consideration it has been decided not to progress with the joint venture and as such we have no plans to develop CBM at the current time. Taken from Interim Statement this year. Mr Money walking this back to shake some low hanging fruit from those with very tight trailing stops ... saw the £0.55mil buy today that was reversed soon after ... jumped the gun me thinks ? Hold tight boys and girls we not had much shakin here for quite some time ! GLA Wooly
Kenstaff, I think they mentioned in a recent RNS that they have decided not to progress CBM with Aberdeen for now, but not relinquished licences so for now is a sleeping giant as far as potential asset value is concerned ? Regards Wooly
Head office is Edwinstowe if you in that part of North Notts? But if you want to see engines insitu then I would say either... Markham Vale which is about 300yds from the McDonalds just off J29a of M1. Shirebrook which is about 200 yds from the massive Sports Direct depot and superstore on the new industrial park on edge of town. I have visited both, Shirebrook is easiest to park and walk around, Markham is easiest to find but a bit busy with lorries etc during the week. When will 40p be convincingly taken out people ... When I ask ya ????
Kenstaff, See attached link to website that I spoke about in a recent post, simpky ckick on Alkane Energy from company menu and heypresto, the list of licences owned and/or part owned is displayed... https://www.og.decc.gov.uk/information/licence_reports/databycompanyandblock.html I found it to be quite interesting !! SP is still struggking with this 40p thing... resting on 50day support line just now, 100 day closing in fast so hope to take a bounce from there. Happy reading mate. Wooly ; o)
Seems market happy to trade us sideways for a time, possible that it ran away from them on last breakout and now taking a well earned breather ? Good volume yesterday with a couple of chunky buys going through, maybe someone mopping up the stock that has been sliced by those bagging a bit of profit, no harm in that as nobody ever got poor by taking profit (Wooly holding tight just for the record). Will we bounce off long term tech trend lines or do we pooh pooh all that Techy stuff in here... ? Massive resistance in high 30s and longer we make like a crab the more headroom that creates for next rung on the ladder. This is the ALK express, this train will be calling at ... 42 ...44 ...46 and is due to arrive at 48p approximately 2014. Has anyone seen my plot, only I appear to have lost it ??
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m_9WlUTR4Ys&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dm_9WlUTR4Ys Too much whiskey and a lack of understanding of Samsung tablets !!
OK - I am offering an apology up front for this, however when I saw it I just had to share. Sorry if you are aged under 30 or live south of Birmingham, but for me it more or less sums up the North and especially for me North Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and the Pennines... http://m.youtube.com/channel/UCqenhtA4BiiijeoHPV5amuQ?&desktop_uri=%2Fchannel%2FUCqenhtA4BiiijeoHPV5amuQ ALK has plant & equipment on the old Grimethorpe colliery site, and this mining legacy is what keeps our engines turning... anyway I enjoyed it (Sad old b#gger that I am) !! Enjoy ; o)
You raise a good point Kenstaff. Current price would feel about right based on market averages ... P/E x12.4 feels OK in my world, however its the future that we should be focussed upon IMHO and that is where ALK starts to look like an interesting investment prospect even at todays (arguably high) entry price !! Markets appear to have us valued on a forward PER x9.5 which might not be stand up and shout from the rooftops bargain levels (Believe me I have seen equally as good companies on MUCH lower multiples in the past) it still would suggest that if ALK perform in line with this last year and meet market expectations then there is potentially a 30% upside tucked away in here for the canny investor ? Now, I am a realist and I fully appreciate that nothing ever works out exactly as planned etc. hence I have always said on this BB that my magic number for ALK is 11.75 and in truth I stand by this as my gut feel valuation metric for this company. "I would love it" ... in a Kevin Keegan stylee if we could catch the eye of a few big players and attract the masses which could easily see P/E figures of x15-20 but thats unlikely given how modest the BoD and our marketing agencies appear to be, therefore I am standing by my magic number and hoping that ALK continue the good work seen to date, because even a 25% uplift from here (Magic number / Market Forecast) would put a smile on my little chops and bring ALK sp bang in line with Wooly's target for this time next year @ 46-48p (Top end of range is my honest pitch) !! Re: PEDL listing and ALK current interests, I think I saw something like that on one of the websites I was trawling through a few weeks back (Not sure how old the data was though) ?? PS - Is the Doctor litterally off to Gloucester with his £400k ... why is he reducing?
