The rise is illusory with such a massive spread
June has arrived but the marketplace hasn’t and I cannot see any explanation of this on Showpiece’s site. Not good.
There seems to be a myriad of issues to deal with, particularly for certain categories of assets. I wasn’t thinking about tax.

Does this help?
Just to repeat my point from another thread: Showpiece’s web site states they are no longer accepting purchases from USA based customers. This must be significant but does anyone know why the restriction?
I know that. The point I am making is that Showpiece’s web site states that they are no longer accepting purchases from USA based customers. Pretty important, I think.
Can anyone tell me why Showpiece are no longer accepting purchases from US based customers?
To be fair, there are a few days of May left but failure to open the marketplace this month would not be good at all
Pearls, how can you possibly make a connection, presumed or otherwise, between people buying pieces of the magenta and then buying shares in SGI. I don’t think it will enter their heads. If the thought did, they would soon be put off.
So what’s the point, Pearls, in advising us that two new catalogues have been published when they are irrelevant to the shares?
What percentage of the SG business is in publishing?
So far as the magenta is concerned doesn’t everything depend on there being a workable market for the pieces post purchase in which everyone has confidence? In the absence of that, the unsold pieces are dead cash.
SGI is as exposed as most to the adverse winds that are now blowing over the market
Rather a stretch to link the Warhol art item to the prospects for Showpiece and through them for SGI but I suppose only time will tell. However, the market doesn’t seem to have been excited by the connection which I think tells us a lot.
What does that mean for SGI, Pearls, and why?
I should have said I am new to posting on this forum rather than new to the forum itself as I have watched for years as you maintain a heavily optimistic view of SG’s shares. I don’t even know what ARB is and am not interested to know. I am however interested in telling the truth and that is that attendance at the Show was hopelessly low. Going directly to the horse’s mouth for a view on whether things are going well will only give you one answer so your report comes as no surprise.
I am new to this forum. I attended the Exhibition on 3 days. The attendance was very poor, massively down on that of the internationals of 2010, 2000, 1990 and 1980. That will not just be down to a reduction in the number of collectors but is also bound to reflect Covid and weather disruptions. Dealers will have been greatly disappointed by the Show which is usually such a highlight of the calendar being in 1 in 10 year event (this one 1 in 12). I can’t see SG getting any confidence at all from this event.
