Where as I have been critical of bt's copper digital rollout, dragging their feet with a proven technology, I now am now coming to the conclusion that they may be right, G fast or XG fast can never supply the speeds required for the future and ftt home/building is never going to be the answer, clearly 5g is a likely contender for that last mile considering speeds in excess of 1tbps could be possible and mixed technology of mobile and fibre surely is the way forward, 5G must have the potential to shape our tech world in a way that is completely unknowable at present, the next couple of years will be key for bt. Small print - my opinion & do your own research
