Drilling for oil. Checking the weather. Checking my swim kit. Bike serviced. Training done. route mapping. Car checked. Race food checked. Hotel checked. Race entry checked. Race brief complete. Begin Bolton 2019 Ironman 06:00. But for the love of god and a handful of “Dorito’s crisps” did I expect to run dry from salt and nearly end up on a IV? You see drilling for oil is much like life, how can you expect anything to run smoothly? With the best men in the world running the show your going to have complications. That is a nailed on certainty. 20 days of drilling followed by a stuck drill,10 days of drilling followed by a mechanical, electrical or pneumatic breakdown,100 days without a LTI. A huge effort to just land. The only only one expectation I have is I know there is oil,and I know it’s coming to the surface baby!! If they hit a duster I’ll just fill my boots again and kick back. The funding side I don’t worry and LK and the team have this all in hand. Like me finishing the UK Ironman LK will come good here. Sit back chill out abd let’s enjoy what we have waited a long, ling time to begin and grow into a beast of a company. GL TT12
Just had chance to catch up today and again another quality move from LK and the team. The man just oozes quality and clearly sees huge potential in this new deal. This company is/will gain strength with these men at the forefront leading they way and it’s just a matter of time/patience and I’ve a feeling that some of us will be giving these men a huge bow down and a bigger thank you. Very exciting times ahead. Looking forward to the next 8/10 weeks. Have a great weekend ya’ll and stay safe TT12
Chesh. Could you consider me one favour. Dedicate your 18k post to fish please..I would be bad laughing mate and make my day..he really does struggles against a strong tide bless TT12 ;)
Ross..you need to start kicking your legs now pal..the circular arm movements are just not enough to save you..head back and keep kicking. TT12
Chesh..we both on the same wavelength today I see. I sat for 4.20 too and got called away, happy I returned to pick up 4.135p and average up a little GL TT12
Oh dear Ross.
You are effectively slowing drowning today, arms racing in circular movements just to keep your head above water. Very poor posts. Yet again I’ll explain in simple terms. This drill will have been risk assessed and dynamic RA and the whole team will have looked all scenarios including the field data, surveys, past operations etc etc. Now the the system we/they will have used is very simple,it’s called ALARP (as low as reasonably practicable) so you/me and every other person who cares to be interested in this drill whether invested or not in your case has no reason to worry in the slightest. Of course we’re going to have problems/setbacks and even failure of equipment but I’ve no doubt, not one that standby and duty system will be in place. When you work on oil rigs land or sea nothing is 100% and drilling is therefor included. We produce 18,000bopd and are consistently looking at risks and always breaking down so yes the chances are even higher that one day you’ll be able to come back and say “I told you so” bit like your placing this and placing that! But for me that really does show how little you actually grasp of the O&G sector. I’ll put my last penny on this last statement and should you fancy an outside wager I’ll gladly accommodate you “IF THERE IS OIL IN THE GROUND ITS COMING TO THE SURFACE” might not be the first drill, second or third but it’s coming I can assure you that. And please don’t worry too much about funding, some deep pockets waiting to help. Yet again I’ll put imho and dyor...let’s go LK TT12
Disc...that’s one of the best posts I’ve seen on this bb for a very long time. Quality. Cheers TT12
LLL..tell TFMW that my favourite cover photo is the one shot for the gig in the streets of London. Took me 10mins to notice the motor behind her ;)...not long now till the drill starts turning. Exciting times you must admit. TT12
Disc. Yes you may get a little stretch the way your explaining however thats not what the drill floor would call "stretch". Very briefly 1 stand of drill pipe equates to 3x30ft section/joints so you can imagine @25,000ft you have many joints. The pressure can/does push the drill pipe against the wall and thus causes the differential in pressure jam. Using different methods to release and in this case the "jarring" method the pipe is still connected to the top drive and the drawworks would essentially pull the pipe free with huge amount of torque and additional chemicals if needed. The "stretch" is measured from the drill floor and you are essentially stretching the whole of that pipe which does return to its original length albeit a little longer but not much tbh. The guys decided to shut nearby wells to reduce the vacuum and bingo out she came (4 days later) and when your into a radioactive section the pressure is fully on to retrieve. Our man Koot will be well versed in such problems and have all the solutions/answers when we hit problems of a much lesser scale tbh..i have said it before if we have oil in the ground (which we clearly do) it will be coming to the surface for sure. This team are a top class selection of individuals who are here for business and to achieve what they have set out in front of us all. GL TT12....aimo of course ;)
LLL..post rec @23:21. To make a good cuppa you need patience just like my nan taught me. Your correct I do make the tea every morning for myself and my team,I find the young crew just haven't got the patience these days. Say hi to Wendy from TT and the crew. Ps can you believe we got 28ft of stretch from that stuck drill when trying to extract it! I’m a bit worried about you LLL how are you going to come back and join the team here in a few months. I’m guessing we’ll be saying our goodbyes soon LLL. Oh well onwards and upwards. TT12
IN4SWP. I would disagree. There’s a huge comparison. What’s different? his strategy and end goal are exactly the same. He will apply very similar principles. He’ll risk asses and even dynamic risk asses the same. The same safety systems will be in place. The employee will be trained to his/same standard with no expense spared. The only difference that I see you’ve maybe mistaken is that he’s a one man band here with zero support or the same huge investors backing him? Them extremely powerful rich men from the Middle East with very deep pockets will still be on the sidelines watching very carefully imho. Only a few years ago I’m sure I read he had over £250m in a pot ready for the right company with the backing and total confidence of some wealthy men, very wealthy in fact. Time to kick back and let the team do what they do best. Very exciting few months ahead and I’m super confident in LK and the team to deliver on what’s been already promised. GL TT12
Dross says.".but if you have not worked your way through the Taqa Bratani accounts at Companies House, from inception to the present day, the full story may surprise you"
below are the figures LK and the team made.
2010 - Gross Profit £133m
2011- Gross Profit £428m
2012 - Gross Profit £951m
2013 - Gross profit £798m
2014 - Gross Profit £519m
2015 - Gross Profit £252m
In 2016 we all saw the rapid and significant downturn in the oil price and almost every oil company suffered huge losses and over the follow few years and 1000,s of jobs lost and 100,s of oil platforms forced to switch the lights off TT12
CaptainSwag.....What about before TAQA single stream venture in Namibia where there was no infrastructure and he had to set up an entire operation from scratch including the supply base and helicopter base. That, he says, laid the foundations for his success at Taqa. "It was a very good learning process. What you learn in a single string venture is all the critical elements of a drilling and oil and gas operation. You know exactly where you can be tripped up. You know where you need the strongest people and where you can be more relaxed."
LK a salesman?? Some salesman to be able to take a company virtually on the bottom up to heights of 60,000bopd and an annual turn over above $1.6billion. IMO LK and the team will not be worrying one jot about funding but rather getting that drill stuck in the ground and the tip turning. How many eyes do you think will be watching? How many meetings already? How many offers?...all in place. Of course there’s a risk, there’s a risk crossing a road too if you want to look at it like that. But that risk and all the other risks will of been hammered out for months and months using the system ALARP (as low as reasonably practicable) We out here have just had drill stuck,a differential drill stick @25,000ft which is over 4.8mile and £4million in notes and did we panic? Of course not because the platform have experienced guys that have plans in place for when this occurs including insurances which is bread n butter stuff for LK. This team will not fail imho and this company will grow from strength to strength just like he done with TAQA. A very honest well respected guy, which Is the opposite to many I see on this bb. To those that are genuine and to those that lost out under LGO I can only say that you couldn’t be in better hands for your break even point and hope you all recoup what was in my eyes stolen from you. GL TT12
Fish...you’ve got your hands full with chesh pal,he’s running you a-mock on here and seriously making you look a fool. Mind you it’s very entertaining watching you try and keep up with his quick banter but your going to have to try harder,a lot harder to get from under his foot mind. He’s just too quick for you ;) TT12
Dross..you time is over here, not one ounce of credibility left. I myself proved you were a liar when you claimed to buy shares on two separate occasions. Unfortunately you have to live with your lies and underhanded actions. I’ve dealt with many a man like yourself who would sell there granny for a score and not bat an eyelid, really sad. Hang your boots up pal and use that intelligence you clearly have in your head to some good use. Good luck,I’ve a feeling your going to need it TT12
VMAX. Yes we’ve had our fall outs but that’s now behind us pal. You yourself have been a valuable member of this board and I’ve got to applaud you for sticking to your guns and seeing this through like you’ve always stated
about SWP. For me as soon as LK was committed I knew this was going all the way. Your totally correct on reputation too,but don’t be fooled on just reputation because these men work on figures and making big bucks too...and the only way to do both is succeed in raising oil from the ground which is why it’ll of been scrutinised like a military operation,if not better. We’ll have minor setbacks that’s for sure,it’s part of the plan..you see these men like myself see the setback as a part of success and forward plan to keep to ALARP. It’s going to get very exciting very soon GL V TT12
Hi Emily, great to see your still here and yeah I’m good, thank you and likewise. Hey I nearly dropped in the “dragon oil” spiel lol. GL TT12
Hey faz I’ve been here long enough to know your a good guy. What I will say in response to your question is to just keep on asking yourself why are LK and team here? These men could have stepped into almost any position anywhere in the world with the background qualities and expertise they hold in the oil industry. LK is a very well connected man in UAE with some extremely wealthy like mined friends who may want a piece of the pie at some point. LK and the team have a reputation to uphold in success not failures and will have looked at this in fine detail before taking the task on,if at any point they thought this was never achievable then tbh they would have walked away, very simple. I work in the northern sector where LK made his mark,he’s a very well known guy who holds a lot of respect. If LK states that this has a potential of £500m Mcap then I’m telling you it’s more a matter of when not if. I would just like to add that this is my belief and as always DYOR. Oh and just to let you know faz I’m not an oilman but rather the guy who fixes/repairs/maintains the oil rig lol. Keep the faith faz your in great hands here matey, possible the best you could of ever wished for GL TT12
MrM..agreed 10m would be good. But I’m 100% whatever black gold is there it will be coming to the surface and the team will leave no stone unturned in doing so. Like I’ve stated this is a lifetime apart from a stuck drill and it’s game over from a geologist who thought he was an oil guru. This first drill will have been risk assessed beyond belief and only through working on a oil rig myself (which is where I’m sat now) they will have back up plans after backup plans in place. These are very intelligent oil men who will have spent hours and even months round a table looking at every scenario possible and will not compromise safety. The most interesting point which a few forget is LK and the team are very well respected and connected men especially in the Middle East and for them to look and take on this company can only mean one thing in my eyes. They certainly not here for jolly or to fail at the first hurdle. This is huge and I’ll have to put IMHO before I get wrong by the bb police but hey..we’ll see who was correct soon enough. GL TT12
