At least 27 people have died in a gold mine fire in Peru, in the worst mining accident in the country in decades.
An electrical short-circuit is thought to have sparked the fire inside the La Esperanza mine in the Arequipa region.

I agree with what you say, but would just add that according to all the stats that I have seen, within the next few years there is going to be a massive shortage of mined PM's, and very few discoveries that are gearing up to be mined, in safe jurisdictions . There are not that many majors, and even fewer discoveries capable of being financially viable. With some majors potentially looking to increase there PM presence due to China's apparent shift away from their current suppliers in relation to iron ore, and it appears that some of the current PM majors also looking to increase their deposits by take overs, this particular area could see several participants all looking at a limited number of PM companies that fit that profile.

There has been quite a few mentions in various media outlets in relation to China looking to secure iron ore deposits away from Australia, one such example is the Simandou deposit in Guinea where they are spending millions in infrastructure to ship iron ore. The FT article gives a summary:

Can't add much to what DIP has already articulated, I'll keep this simple, read BOJO2020's (or any of the other posters that suddenly appear or re-appear with a message) previous musings, then compare that to what the likes of BAMPS, PADDY, HYDRO have to say. While you personally may agree or disagree with some of what they state, they back their theories with fact or detailed analysis which can be, and has been challenged ... I know who I would rather engage with.

The fact is that document is hosted on the Newcrest website within a folder called 2022-06, and its file name starts with 220602. Within that PDF document at the bottom of page 10 are displayed the words "Newcrest is not aware of any information or data that would change this estimate", end of.
You can not change those facts, now those words have been used before, and quite probably the presentation was not checked thoroughly enough before being made available for download, but that was not the point I and others were making, that it is there literally in Black and White, nothing else.
So no ignorance on our part whatsoever.
