The large volume today as a result of the Midas tip might have taken out an overhang of sellers so perhaps we have formed a new base.
On Bloomberg the US heath authorities are indicating that the Omicron variant might be positive for the future, if as a result of it being more transmittable it becomes the dominant strain because it has far milder symptoms .
They also say that the flight bans are a waste of time.
a no brainer . Tomorrow is key ,should see 108 all being well .

that MMs brazenly closed this @102 yesterday , despite the fact that it traded between 103.7 - 104 the whole day . I note that the first trade today was @ 105 at very low vols . They are desperate to keep this down, be interesting on the 7th to see what manipulation they can come up with.
Hi Katenip, in reality this is a great performer . In the next 9 months this will produce a yield of + 10 % including the special divs . But it is avoided by institutions and traders because it is traded at low volumes and difficult to buy / sell , so it therefore is very under rated . I will be holding this as a great cash cow and probably adding on ex div lows .
The board has stated that they believe the market cap is too low . There is a chance that they will increase the ordinary div rate , in which event this can re- rate rapidly.
Hi Jonah thanks for your reply. Who knows ? You could be correct ,all these different antelopes and elephants leaping about and name changes make for a lot of confusion.
I am however convinced that the tailings in Luanshya will contain significant cobalt content and if this company can have even limited success at its extraction endeavours wherever they might be, the future will be very rosy . That said I am not expecting sparkling forthcoming results because the company has been spending time and money investing for the future making this one of the best long term holds you will ever find
Hi Jonah it surprises me that you think Roan ( luanshya ) tailings are not rich in cobalt.
I worked there 1976 - 1991 , yes juanshya was heavily loss making but it also processed the ore from an associated shaft ( Baluba ) which was very rich in cobalt, indeed the Baluba mine kept Roan afloat . I remember seeing the bags of cobalt blister. . One of my prized possessions is a mineral presentation box from Roan featuring a highly polished cobalt engraved label.

quite a lot here this morning @102.5 . Thinly traded so large spread but a great hold for the ordinary divs + the upcoming special divs . Will hold most in an ISA , should be a nice cash generator .
If this falls anywhere near 100 fill yer boots . For an outstanding growth stock ,even at the recent high this is on a nonsense valuation
Hi gotreal
Yes the UK is a large economy but the key word in my post was " relatively " , that is compared to the other QE printers .
The US and EU economies are far larger and they will be better able to absorb the shock of a QE reversal than the UK.
I could go on and on about the problems facing Britain , this is is the wrong site for it . But anyway just a few are - lack of a skilled workforce ( try to find a plumber etc ) , an inept government that is not proactive to forseeable problems ( what no lorry drivers OMG ) , public services on the brink of collapse ( got your driving license yet etc ) , large % of the population despite having work are on the breadline ( consternation about the rise in energy prices ), Scottish independence , ineffectual parliamentary opposition etc etc etc .
Very glad that JLP are offshore if they were based here the planning applications would still be in the in tray . I admire your pride in Britain but lets get real.
Hi gotreal
Yes indeed, agreed and as I stated most major economies have been propped up by the quaintly named quantitative easing money printing . This will have to be withdrawn and reversed at some point in the future ,the figures are colossal well into the trillions and major distortions must have been caused in the markets as a result. When the US authorities even hint at tapering which merely means reducing the amount of QE and not ending it the markets react very negatively .
What would happen when QE is stopped nobody knows but it absolutely will not be pretty , large instability will probably occur . The UK iMO is more prone than most to problems being a relatively smaller economy . UK debt has gone from one trillion £ to two trillion in short order ( thats if you believe the figures they spew out ) . At the moment interest rates are nonsensical, when they rise even slightly all bets are off . I lived in Zambia during their currency crisis and rampant money printing / inflation I have seen pensions reduced overnight to next to nothing . I don't expect that to happen here but who knows ? One thing is for sure the BOE lack all credibility so I would not be buying UK gov debt, probably the only buyer will be the BOE which is a recipe for disaster.
Invest in real things like metals for stability
Hi dorfan Interesting reading your post I left RSA in 2000 I seem to remember then that Money Web was the main finance hub.
Luckily I retained a brokerage account and managed to pick up 188600 @ R0.66 about 3 pence, got another 87400 @ R1.21
Picked up some more in UK @ about 7 p . All for a LTH . The RSA market is very tightly held so difficult to buy in quantity . Rand weakness is a worry but I have zero confidence in the UK economy and would not be surprised if the GB £ fell heavily . Like most of the large economies it has been propped up by money printing and at some stage financial markets will have to face the consequences so expect volatility . Cobalt copper platinum etc cannot be printed so companies producing metals could do very well .

Turnpan , a well known Zambian company . I worked for RCM / ZCCM in Luanshya 1976 - 1991 . The high % of cobalt in the associated Baluba mine ore was the main reason for keeping the Luanshya mine open. Sulphur dioxide pretty obvious in the air but as far as I know no ill effects for me .
Erm ? Perhaps manipulation ,like today open it at 390 to knock out any stop losses . A thinly traded share on low volume so the MMs can play this .
But surely not in this "great british " free and fair market ,I must be mistaken . More than happy to hold and collect another div I see no reason to sell
growth here , deserves a far stronger rating. In the USA companies nowhere near paying a div or making a strong profit are rated on a pe of + 40 . Seems that investors elsewhere have lost sight of the key a investment metric , namely future growth potential .
As in any share we should only be looking for a sustainable increase in EPS , this company is an outstanding candidate .
Looks like a very well run company trading at a large discount to true value . Should have a lot further to go.
All investors in JLP owe President Kaunda a debt of gratitude for the stability he instilled in Zambia. Without his wisdom I doubt very much that Zambia would be the beacon of investment potential it represents today in an otherwise unstable area of Central Africa .
He presided over a country with arbitrarily imposed colonial borders and + 70 different tribes and languages some of which historically were engaged in hostilities with each other .
The contrast with the present crop of worldwide disingenuous self serving politicians is something to behold .
One Zambia One Nation.
Too much concern over 2.9 m warrants . Some lucky individual PI's probably own more than this amount . As stated below could be the holder is awaiting a more attractive price .
this morning a metals analyst called Francesko Blanch of Bofa Securities stated that copper on the LME this year can trade up to 20000 - 30000 $ / tonne . He did not have a smirk on his face as he said it and the interviewer asked him to repeat it .
He reckons there is not enough cu ore in the ground to keep up with electrification demand and unless plenty of cu scrap becomes available for recycling there will be a significant shortage of the metal .
Pretty obvious what this would mean for JLP even if they have only partial success with the roll out of their plans .
