For many the cost (and stress) of getting to and from work is too great. The war on the motorist is having its impact, people are giving up. As for growth, while this policy prevails, forget it, unemployment seems the goal, maybe conscription is on the cards.

On a lighter note, I’ve come to the conclusion that working from home is a tax avoidance scheme.

IDojii, I can’t remember the last time I went in a pub, what you describe sounds horrific. The point I was trying to make is that the drug abuse you describe etc, is not dealt , but used as an excuse to impose restriction on normal acceptable behaviour.

Asimpleinvestor. I agree with your comment regarding the non alcoholic trend of a large % of youngster. I’m teetotal myself. However, many people socialise with a glass of wine or a pint, they don’t get drunk or become antisocial, I’m sure you would agree. It seems to me that moderation isn’t tolerated, and the scenario described by Birdsong is used to justify this. Motorists are treated much in the same way.

Are the coastal waters safe in Wales, recent reports I’ve read, warn of polluted rivers and sewage overflows and advise visitors to stay out of the sea. I expect it the same everywhere.

I no longer travel to take a holiday, too much stress. The roads in the UK are so congested and Dick Turpin has been resurrected in the shape of zero tolerance smart cameras, travelling abroad has lost its appeal. So for me it’s getting together with family and friends in our gardens or the local park, it’s who you’re with not where you are.

Wales was my go to place whenever I had spare weekend, however, since the introduction of the 20mph I’ve avoided going. “Getting an utchy on,” could be expensive, have a great day.

Your comments made me question the headline, which is misleading. I’m a long term shareholder but don’t really know what I’m doing. In the near future I’m getting out of shares altogether , Lloyds has saved me from making huge losses. I shall devote my time to guitar playing, I know a bit more about that.

Like you I thought this report must be incorrect. However there are many reports supporting this view. When you consider how far Lloyds have come from the banking crisis, perhaps we should not be so sceptical. They have repaid all of the government bailout, addressed all the PPI claims and conducted considerable buybacks. Providing there are no more misbehaviour activity I think the shares have a lot more to go.

Having listened to the summary by the SC, I have changed my perception of LBG and wonder when the next crisis will manifest itself. I’m a long term investor.
