Gordon Stein, CFO of CleanTech Lithium, explains why CTL acquired the 23 Laguna Verde licenses. Watch the video here.
GRP is now trading at almost a 25% discount to NAV. This valuation seems odd given the stock also has a high dividend yield. It's hard to believe that the higher interest rate environment of recent times could account for such a dramatic effect on the SP. I wonder if it's now a potential candidate for takeover or privatisation?
Hard to see Ryan having a road to Damascus conversion regarding Irish fossil fuel exploration but who knows. Also, the probable next SF led administration seem to be more anti fossil fuel than the current bunch. They even had a motion at their recent party conference proposing a fossil fuel rationing scheme with the allocated ration decreasing each year.
SF make their position pretty clear - they want to withdraw from the Energy Charter Treaty and what it entails - ref Darren O'Rourke:
"And here in Ireland, Lansdowne Oil and Gas plc, a partner of Barryroe Offshore Energy, is challenging the Irish government on their decision not to grant a licence which would have been inconsistent with our climate targets."
Once Larry got involved in this hapless company the writing was on the wall. He just took advantage of the opportunity provided to him by years if not decades of mismanagement. Any company that could entertain pseudo investors like spoton/apec etc. was obviously not at the races.
You've got to hand it to Larry, he's some operator. Gets the whole package/tax write-offs etc. for peanuts.
"Good man Larry " - as they used to say at the co-op meetings way back in the eighties
Berenberg cutting their target price to £65.20. This reduced target is still more than 50% higher than the current share price. Something is way out of sync here but that's been the story for years.
I can't understand the narrative about Vevan looking to fund Barryroe for some future renewable energy operation. Why not just setup a new company? Is there some value in the existing listing or the personnel? There has to be some angle here as the costs involved will be enormous. It must be dependent on some payoff for the existing BEY situation
Sounds like the OG cash cow is chugging along as expected. Would have liked some detail on the other business units but maybe the AGM will add some colour
Q1 interim statement is due on Thursday, will be interesting to see how the healthcare and tech side have performed to date this year. I'm guessing there will be no surprises in the core OG business.
I'm looking forward to seeing the trading action over the next few days. Over the last few weeks it's been retail investors buying and some large holder(s) selling. The market makers seem happy enough to absorb the selling which would indicate they want to hold shares. In the next few days some real information will start to leak, before any official announcements via RNS. Any significant buy volumes (even if they are at a lower SP ) would be a very good confirmation signal.
That's one of the things I like about this company and it helped me make the decision to invest here. Far too many small O+G companies are simply employment vehicles for staff and management, going from fund raise to fund raise just to keep themselves in jobs. PG and Co. definitely believe in Predator.
BBs have a tendency to become very polarized. It's rare to find balanced opinions on most message boards as they mainly consist of the true believers on one side and complete trolls on the other!
There's also no sign of any significant i.e. non retail buy in to this story yet. It's inconceivable that all the smart money is unaware of developments and only the private investors know what's going to happen. I'm hoping for success here but I would be a lot happier if I saw more large scale buys. If there was any solid knowledge of a significant discovery then I would expect word would have leaked. Right now PIs are buying and some large holders have been selling. The positive point is that the selling is so far being quickly absorbed. If I start to see large volume buys then I'll believe something good is happening.
The SP is doing well so far today given the persistent selling. It's hard to understand what exactly the MMs are playing at as they are not dropping the SP as much as I would have expected. I think the next few trading days will be revealing and expect a significant SP move soon (hopefully in the right direction!)
