Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Risk is that the price that Anglo put forward isn’t enough for us.....but we’re still expecting the offer to be much higher than current mcap, so even if it’s not accepted it should drive the share price higher! From my understanding from the last RNS it does seem as though an offer, of some variety will be made!
I’ve held this share for over 5 years and I’ve rarely been as hacked off as I am now - usually you can blame events for a lot of the issues that we’ve encountered. However I’m really struggling to get my head around the recent events - its completely amateurish. The fact that we’re locked in with Aeturnum means we’ve got a really messy situation with them - we’d have to sue our cornerstone investor!!
The deal was overly complex from the start - a simple jv to development would have been the most beneficial for all, not this floating of a shell company to house aeturnums commodity business.
Surely there has to be no end of suitors for the project with the way copper price is going and the effects the copper price will have on the project economics - can we give AA a call??
Pretty ****ed off with this. MT looks to have been right to have sceptical about these guys. I’ve just sold half my holding. Primarily because I think that there’s better money to be made elsewhere whilst we get some clarity on these guys. I’ll be buying back later on
Not sure it was - I think it was a strategic decision to make the deal happen quicker. If we were buying cash during the negotiations it makes sense for AA to draw them out. This gives us a better hand in negotiations. Also having an II on board will surely help behind the scenes on any commercial negotiations
Personally can’t believe the reaction to this - possibly not the best day to release the news. However, was on time! Unfortunately we’ve got a lot of money in from people that would have bought @1p, that are keen to crystallise their profits. Hopeful that we’ll rally towards the close at mid day
Most of those RNSs tend to include a catch all statement about making no guarantees that the deal will go ahead.....this didn’t! Think we need to strap ourselves in, stars feel like they’re aligning eventually (I’ve held this for nearly 6 years!)
Think the vast majority hope you’re wrong! Not sure that you’ve fully understood the value of the deal. It’s not about KSK it’s about unlocking beutong and be fully funded to do so, with cash in the bank that’s twice our current market cap. Also we entered this agreement when copper was about 2.50 a lb, now 3.5. Meaning that if it does fall through we’d have others all over us like a cheap suit!
