What a ride!
Nice rise after a shaky start today. Positive.
Nothing goes straight up lad. Chin up. Sp has gone from £2.30 at the start of the year, that’s a hefty return in 6 months.
It would be a good sign if we could hit £4 by 5pm today. Despite market turbulence, a finish above £4 for the week would be a strong signal.
Fun (he says through gritted teeth).
It’s never fun losing money.
What’s everyone’s guess regarding the SP low this time?
£3 would be nice
I think we can all agree the SP was battered down to almost nothing during last spring. The company either swims or sinks from here (pardon the pun) and RDH is our lifeboat. Buying in here near the bottom is a easy call. Will the company be here in 12 months might be a harder question to know for sure!
My guess is RDH bought back into saga to prevent job losses for Folkestone, continue the legacy of his father and turn a tidy profit over a number of years. Taking the company private must seem like a terrible ‘hassle’ when you are a billionaire in your mature years. Good luck to the fellow if he can keep saga afloat, improve the legacy and keep the folks of Folkestone employed, it can’t be easy in this day and age.
Can saga ride out another 10 months of non cruising?
The share price has moved up quite a bit, from low low’s , so I guess it’s expected that the SP will move more slowly for now as things progress in the right direction (barring some good brexit news).
Sorry to hear about your brother longtime investor. It’s been a crazy year, many have died from the virus. My thoughts are with everyone who has lost a loved one.
My guess is they will test everyone prior to getting on board, then if they do get it (96% won’t) they will just take them off at the next stop, after spending a day or two in their cabin. No big deal. We will have a better handle on the hysteria by then.
Spot on. Just what I was thinking. My guess the oxford vaccine has great numbers and the government have already purchased millions of vaccines which have already been produced. I can literally hear those suitcases locking shut full of factor 40 and sunglasses. Old folk probably haven’t felt so alive since the day they retired. Who doesn’t want a cruise after this bloody year. Shame I have to work, have 3 kids and can’t afford a saga cruise. Have fun everyone.
When rapid testing gets going in a few months there will be little to stop older folk going on holiday. They have spent a year sat in doors on their arse, they have very little years left and won’t give a monkeys about the flu when so few will have it and the vaccine works for 90% of people. The demand will be phenomenal.
Don’t forget the sp is moving up from ridiculous levels (remember 10p before consolidation), the market sees the vaccines on the horizons and knows only too well the pent up demand from people like my mum who will have a whole year of money to spend on a cruise etc. The market will go bonkers when the vaccine arrives. Which will be in a few weeks. The sp has plenty to go yet. Good luck holding everyone.
Brexit is a non starter for saga. The big question is whether Roger can rebuild a company with integrity and make money. I hope for Folkestone he can. The sp will trade multiples from here over the next 2-3 years. I hope.
