Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Morning all, long time no speak.
Just wondered who was aware of more competition for AFC energy?
Siemens ventures partnering with Geopura seem to be a very sizeable competitor to AFC, especially since their larger scale HPU’s are already running in commercial environments, albeit on a very here and there basis.
I know AFC are working towards this capability with the s+ series, but I’m beginning to worry that the timeframe to have first mover advantage is rapidly closing.

To me it reads quite clearly. For each milestone of payment for these chargers, ABB are able to buy the next chunk of shares offered under this deal.
They aren’t paying for the charger via shares, and they aren’t getting free shares in return for the charger.
Not too hard to grasp?
If you don’t like somones sentiment please just filter them… this entire board is just full of arguments at the moment.
I know there isn’t a flood of new news, but just relax.
SF6 is used in a lot of countries as a very high quality insulation medium for high voltage electricity, but yeah we leak a LOT of it here in the UK as well. Takes about 3000 years to start to break down naturally.
Unfortunately in America they don’t mind just letting it out to atmosphere as can be seen by all the science experiments involving it on youtube
And I say £5! Now let’s watch our predictions have absolutely no bearing on what happens.
The liveries on these cars will just be extreme E branding and then whatever sponsors each team gets, AFC energy wouldn’t be expected to have any presence on them unless they sponsored the team
Also to note is that yesterday National Grid announced plans to sell off the majority of the gas transmission system to focus on electricity transmission. So it’s unlikely given then timeline that National Grid would be responsible for this.
National Grid ventures would probably be the best thing to keep an eye on regarding development.
I’m not completely sure if they are aiming for pure hydrogen or just a high % mixture. I’m not familiar with the materials used in the gas transmission system so the physical properties of pipes could be the limiting factor for now, I work on the electricity transmission side.
I can confirm that this is being done. A company called Angus energy is partnered with national grid and they are producing mixtures of the current natural gas and hydrogen, it will be a slow transition but it is 100% the end goal for the gas transmission system.
Just to throw some perspective on this from hindsight, I came across AFC in the autumn of 2019 then my major investment got caught in the spike that happened then. I was between 30% and 50% in the red for a good while but I didn’t care because even then I could see how much potential this had.
If you entered AFC for a relatively quick turnaround on your investment then I can see why but it’s always a risk, longer term though (EOY) this should reward your patience nicely.

The share price is up 6% since the Mace announcement
AFC aside... I’m really looking forward to this race series! Admittedly having a financial interest tied to it makes it more substantial to myself, but it’s been a while since I really got behind a sporting event and I can’t wait to watch this.

The only thing keeping me going at the moment is that this is an entire sector thing. Ceres, ITM, EQT are all down significantly and showing very similar patterns.
A sector decline does not change the fundamentals of AFC or any of the others that are declining, if you believed in AFC at 88p you should believe in them just as much now if not more. There has been no fundamental change to the company to impact the share price negatively like this.
Last year just after the winter gain, we lost 50% of the SP by mid March when it levelled out. If this pattern repeats we are looking at a 40p ish level. Until early summer followed by another rise at the start of November.
Obviously this is all just IMO, I hope to see rises as soon as possible just like everyone else here.

Good morning and welcome to the board!
Just quickly replying to the second half of your post. If that was ever done in any capacity, it would almost certainly be crypto mining companies buying the power plants from AFC to use them. However I see this as extremely unlikely, and wouldn’t make any investment decisions using this as a reason. There’s plenty of news to be excited about with AFC but that’s not one of them.

Hoping to be able to free up some funds tomorrow to average up from my current 24p avg. In my personal opinion I’m most excited about the future of the partnership with ABB. Although this is pure speculation I think that if a strong enough performance is show by AFC throughout the extreme e event, ABB may consider AFC to provide full off grid charging for the formula E racing series.
Maybe wishful thinking, but I also like to think it’s realistic.
Here’s to a better second half of the week.

Tradegate up 4.49% at time of writing. Hoping this translates into a blue day.

Nice to see all three of us picked up on this at the same time! Definitely hope AFC get a named mention.
A bit more coverage of extreme e starting to crop up. Just watching the BBC news and it’s featured in the main headlines. This is the first time I’ve seen it televised (obviously not meaning this is the first time it has been on TV at all), it’s great to see it starting to pick up more traction.

Hi all,
I’m not a regular poster on here, I don’t see the point unless I have something genuinely constructive to add to the page.
I do however absolutely love whats happened today in comparison to recently. There has been a lot of contribution to the discussion on the back of the news today and it really is great to see compared to a lot of the petty bickering that seems to have been all too common here as of recent.
This ship will turn around soon enough and AFC will be rewarded for their incredible work over the last few months. It’s a pleasure to have been here for the past year and a bit, and I feel that we will continue in the right direction.
