I agree entirely. Bojo will want to be seen as a world leader at COP26, and making an announcement re SMRs (either before or during said summit) will show the world we have the capability, and desire, to bring about real change. RR will soar on any such announcement IMO.
Apparently, according to: https://www.gurufocus.com/term/EffectiveInterestRate/RYCEY/Effective-Interest-Rate-on-Debt-/Rolls-Royce-Holdings-PLC RR's effective interest rate on debt is 2.84%, which means that if the recent sale in Spain for $2billion is used to pay down existing debt, they will save $56.8 million annually. This would of course be added to their free cash flow. This is probably a simplistic view, but I thought it interesting.

5638 Gals per hour to be precise.
Yeah! Imagine having to fill up at the forecourt! Fuel usage was over 5000 Gals per hour I think.
26,286 Gals v 535 Gals in the version with Cannons restored.
Almost certainly!
The only aircraft capable of catching up with Concorde, but only for a brief time before it needed to return for fuel! Concorde was amazing.
Not sure if anyone has posted this recently, but a nice video on YT:

Very diplomatic!!
Oh I agree, long term. But the market does seem to react to immediate changes in sentiment, albeit on a temporary basis. I agree, Russia losing its influence through supply of hydrocarbons must be alarming to them. I see troubled times ahead tbh. And have always, for years and years, thought that China would present as a major threat eventually. I will never trust authoritarian regimes.
Putin's offer to stabilise energy prices may be behind the FTSE's rebound this afternoon, as gas prices have fallen. Not such a bad day for RR after all, having tested the 138 level again. Onwards and upwards!
Perhaps he meant the early end.
An old article, but interesting, on the possible use of Hydrogen in the aircraft industry.

You're allowed up to about £12500 profit per year before paying CGT I believe.
Yes. Coal and gas are both on the way out, so nuclear is not just likely but inevitable. And the ease and cost of providing SMRs just makes huge sense. They're far quicker to set up than building new Sizewells and the like. Makes perfect sense........it's just a matter of when our dear government realises it.
I am imagining there a a lot of people behind their keyboards, phones etc with rather large grins on their faces today, mine included. And well-deserved too. Patience rewarded. Happy days.
Perhaps.......I was hoping for maybe 10% uplift, which would get us to around 145p. But I'd be happy with 150p!
