Company's latest steps seem more improvised than calculated, but there was luck with NZ's deal timing.

In any case, the company seems very undervalued at these levels, considering 0 value for Chuditch.

NZ's figures will clarify all of this. Cheal increased gas production substantially in May and June. 120 days extension should be enough to reveal something.

Finder's FID (its price is being punished aswell) will reveal which rig they have contracted and under what conditions. It's clear Sunda was looking for a jack-up, not a semisub.

Has anyone checked the current gas production figures for New Zealand available on the official website (gasindustry.nz)? According to the data, daily production in 2026 (Cheal + Sidewinder) is 3.5 times higher than in 2025. In fact, Cheal's total gas production (up to June 18th) is almost double the total production for 2025. Very strange figures for Sidewinder in January... but the main producer is Cheal, by far. Cheal's production rates are increasing month by month, with the highest 1H figures since 2021.

Can anyone add anything to this? Is there something I'm missing?

IMHO, I'm also skeptical about Chuditch. Management has shown that it's too much for them. Now, perhaps it's not just about excessive scale, but it's too late. Maybe the value (in a more reasonable size) lies now in New Zealand.
