Todays RNS Reach confirms that the recent takeover of Field59 has opened the door for FBT into Town News. It's like having the Evening Post taken over by News Corp and getting the latter group's papers and TV interests as a customer!
Thanks again EbbsandFlows. The website nails one thing down: their turnover was less than 10.2M for 2016. This is because elsewhere they say they have two offices and there are over 50 staff. If their turnover were more the accounts would have to be audited. They say on the link that you provided that they are used by their community "billions of times each and every month". At face value the minimum number of contacts in a year therefore is 2billion x 12 = 24billion. Even if they were making 10.2M in turnover that would equate to 0.000425 per posting and could easily be substantially less. It does appear reasonable to conclude that, unless there has been a major change in the way they trade post the additional capitalisation, FBT have much more profitable contacts on which to concentrate their constrained sales fire power. Perhaps RD was being polite.
Thanks for the explanation EbbsandFlows. Whilst I can see the benefit of FBTs software to them in handling videos I'm not sure where their income stream is generated but provided they can pay promptly it's not my concern. They may be the biggest but the fact that their accounts are exempt suggests that they are not another Facebook yet. No transactions since 08.30 this morning although all buys previously. Waiting on an update from Las Vegas.
If you search LADbible Group Ltd on Companies House as I have since seeing a reference to this company on another site you will discover that they report the last accounts filed as "09 Oct 2017 Total exemption small company accounts made up to 31 December 2016 ". There has been new capital subscribed but I find it hard to believe that they have become a significant player in the short time since then unless by acquisition and I haven't found any indication of that happening. I have no idea what "We are the biggest community in the world for a social generation" actually means. Are they bigger than Facebook, Instagram or Twitter? It looks like meaningless marketing puff.
there is no news posted today, which is unsurprising given the time difference, the price has gone up over 10% presumably reflecting the fact that existing holders are unlikely to be sellers so the only stock on the market is that held by short term speculators. Demonstrations of the products on the stand will be feeding the meeting room so even at 1 hour per follow up meeting they could be seeing 12 - 14 real prospects a day. Not all will be big players but FBT now have customers of quality to evidence the worth of Blackbird so wins should be of good size.
Repositioning of the Forbidden business under the Blackbird brand and the introduction of three new Blackbird products Forbidden Technologies plc (AIM: FBT), the developer and seller of cloud video platform technology using its patented Blackbird technology, announces a repositioning of its business under the Blackbird brand and the launch of the new Blackbird website at www.blackbird.video. The full trade announcement is set out below. (see LSE website)
They have over 1.7M in hand. The net margin on sales is about 85%. So on a turnover of 1.5M in the current year they would generate 1.275 in cash. In 2019 3.0M would generate 2.55M. From my own experience of a small company if you have the right product a 100% year on year sales increase is more than achievable - in the case in my mind we got over 400% - but they stll need to make cost savings. Elsewhere they have pointed out that the CFO is not good value and neither is DM and one of the other non execs. Even if they are not fired a remuneration holiday might well be helpful. As they are doing NAB this year I would expect expenses to be pared back - no expensive flights, modest hotel accommodation unless on or near site can be properly justified. Of course, if they land a major contract everything might change. But until they do so pennywise is the watchword.
Not a good set of results on the numbers. But there is a new team in charge that has set out its stall clearly. We have new experienced sales personnel and a CEO who is performance driven. Expenditure on interesting projects has been cut - only income producing innovation will be funded. Income in Q1 2018 is up ~ 10% or 99%? The major relaunch is at NAB 2018 and that will really tell us where this is going.
On the Fanview experience why would any major outside broadcast event use anything but Forscene and Blackbird and condemn their coverage to being secondrate?
Now IM is beginning to get to grips with the Company sales. Whilst Corrivium has been a customer since 2016 (see the posting by Amy Creeden on the FBT website) this looks like a step increase in what they are doing. The new year should show a continuing stream of "trade" posts as existing customers expand their usage and new ones sign up. SS can concentrate on what he does best: product innovation and development which will keep FBT ahead of the pack..
http://www.forbidden.co.uk/2017/12/05/ai-the-limits-of-iq/ Probably means no RNS this week as this would detract attention from it.
recruitment blitz suggests that at very least they are very confident of getting the PoC confirmed as a success and at an increased scale. They cannot have signed contracts yet since that would trigger an RNS given that the PoC itself was given that treament. The announcement of the merger of BBC Studios and BBC Worldwide may be one of the things that has been holding up an announcement, the other being the North American involvement - if it were AAPL the next significant date is the release of FCPX 10.4 due on or before 31/12/2017. The calibre and numbers of people being recruited are an indication that the values are very significant - clearly they must be a multiple of the salaries, bonuses and on costs associated with the new postions - and may well be over 1M and maybe considerably more.
My guess is that an announcement will come on or after the Final Cut Pro update promised by AAPL before the end of the year is released but certainly not before. Once the FCP update is released everyone will be able to see what features from Forscene have been integrated so there would be no point in holding back any further on an RNS.
The Post Office haveapparently reported the first letter to Santa Clause this year from a little boy named Ian who very laudably is not asking something for himself. Instead he wants an enormous RNS for his shareholders... but they fear Santa will not know what an RNS is.
I suspect the options will be under HMRC rules to get the best tax treatment and they do cover how long the option must have run before it can be exercised and that the price was fair value.
