The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Couldda, wouldda, shoulda
Equally with a high burn rate and demonstrably pants projects, and unwise investments into tired duster JVs the alternative is that £10MM is overrated. I could give you a company with much better prospects for less.
Ramping like that is what seems to have caused the problem.
All IMHO, DYOR and GLTAH.
Meanwhile here's a joke.
A man walks into a bar, one wise man sits and listens, to report on the matter later. Bigshot beancounting promoter is there talking deals. Someone else starts talking geology, as geos tend to do...
"Listen pal, I don't give a monkeys about geology or prospectivity, I just wanna assemble a portfolio to ramp" comes the reply.
True story, almost...
Certainly looks encouraging, given the Kraaipan, and other greenstones in RSA and leading over the border to Bots have auriferous BIF's e.g. KalGold mine, but hey ho, let's wait on the assays.
Hopefully they will be provided forthwith rather than the long wait we had to endure waiting for the full KSZ pegmatoid results after a very selective photo looked investable...
(Which never really came.)
Yes, perhaps he meant 0.25p, billions out, more dusters...
JP2000
Apologies for delayed response.
No not anymore, sold my holding after the disappointing performance of KAV re the KSZ drilling. Have kept looking in to see how things change (seemingly only the ever-burgeoning costs) and trying to work out if it's worth another punt as a "five year low" or not if it's a "death spiral".
My objective take, underlined with the latest waffly RNS (yes, theres lots of BIFs with Au - there's even a mine in one in Botswana) is just "really"? Are folk going to buy this new goalpost shift / deckchair shuffle. Spots and Leopards and all.
I see there's a fair few out cheerleading, and that's great, but I lost money on KAV and am deterred from investing again as I think the story is oversold, much like the interrelated POW. Not much value in London listed juniors at present unfortunately.
Anyway, all IMHO, DYOR, and GLTAH mind.
"...our CEO knows how to play the discovery hand..."
Interesting. I wasn't aware PJ had done anything than overpromise and underdeliver and had not been involved in a sucessful resource discovery. Please fill me in on what resources he's found (other than cash cows and lifestyles) which would give me a good reason to reconsider my default position (as it stands i.e. never invest in POW in future).
I am looking to make a good investment in a decent company at the moment, but hype doesn't really help.
IMHO...
Lol, what a bizzare couple of releases. What (other than themselves) have Banks and Holwell ever found?
What does one expect may occur when drilling in carbonaceous basins (Karoo, with coal beds, intruded by dykes and lava flows)?
Graphite. How many siemens to model that?
No wait, we've tried Bushveld, KCB, REE, IOCG, Norilsk models... Maybe the pressures been enough and we will now hit:
Diamonds!!!!
Er, unsure till the drilling starts.
Not on my coin, thank you very much. GLTAH , but wow!
Hello Legalwolf
Interested to hear that "they missed the B1 conductor(s) rather than they drillled through B1 and it didn't contain any mineralisation".
Not sure if you've drilled many EM targets, but like all black-box geofizz, EM is falliable. Modelling can be as accurate as Professor Pantsdowns CV19 Death Spiral model.
Geofizz consultants, and Directors with geofizz experience, are clearly happy to keep spending loads on conceptiual targets, models to be tested, but the possibility remains that actually the did drill through what was modelled (remember the method and the depth is v equivocal) and it really was pants. We never did see the assay data for the intercept BT got all weak kneed over back in August 2021!
If they go back to B1 it will be a lot of money spent, whether or not thy are successful. I will keep watching, but not compelled to get back in at present, personally, given it's shaping up for 2023 to be lifestyle extension and more dusters...
As ever, anyone reading: all IMHO, DYOR, GLTAH
"A major player ... Pj mention something in that regard"...
Interesting. A major looking at POW's involvement in Molopo?
Same Molopo studied hard already by a few majors?
Why would any major contemplate a JV with an underfunded, non-technical AIM penny stock, rather than wait and see if the said penny stock finally gets a bit of luck and drills a blinder, then watch it blow itself apart raising a few mill?
If assays are key (nice pun given RK's involvement in assemblig the licence package POW did the deal on), we will see, but I'll personally not be expecting a major to climb in unless there are numerous belting intercepts.
And the XRF and grapevine would perhaps have been chattering before now were that the case?
All IMHO, DYOR and GLTAH.
Aye.
Mind though. Dave's a good guy who knows his stuff and has actually done things and found things. But he's obviously managed to persuade BT to part with even more dosh to drill conceptual CSAMT targets out west and deep (been there, done that, drilled booming CSAMT anomalies proving to be dusters ~20 years ago). Shrewd move, will add to his corporate knowledge and help in his retirement or the next dumb junior boom.
Wasn't the: a. announcement of KSZ targets; b. appointment of BG; c. announcement of KCB CSAMT done this way, fanfare followed by drilling dusters then chasing the other rainbow over the hill?
I asked after that last video interview with BT who the mysterious "Steve" was. Perhaps he meant "Dave"?
Or, is there a Super Steve waiting in the wings once the Nam KCB comes to naught?
Only time will tell. At present I'm not tempted to dabble in KAV, would need a total wipeout and no involvement of PJ or beancounters. Juniors should be run by driven tech teams...
All IMHO, DYOR.
sol001; impecunious2 - thanks for the concerns. Good for you supporting the companies efforts.
I'm just a personal investor wanting to make money on speculative stocks. May be out of some, but surely companies have a duty to attract new investors, back or first time in.
BBs like this are presumably for fair reflection and open exchanges, not one way HMG-style CV19 misinformation. Sound cases for investment should be easy to make, but not so with this compamy IMO.
Would I invest in POW now, knowing what I know (which includes first-hand Molopo experience)?
No. Took that money and did invest in CUSN instead.
Will I invest in POW in future?
No. Don't feel the model or the people have the nouse to make me money from v high risk plays, same as KAV. Sleights of hands are well and good. To me it would need a major sea-change, not just a rearranging of the deckchairs.
But I hope for your sakes you make money on your POW investments, sincerely.
There is absolutely no doubt there ARE tonnes and tonnes of Ni at Molopo. Nothing wrong with being positive. But always temper the ramping with realism and actual results.
Sadly for POW shareholders, the tonnes and tonnes of Ni at Molopo will be very disseminated, and likely too low grade or too deep to mine. There's absolutely tonnes and tonnes of Au in the ocean as well, it's just totally unmineable at present.
These guys had the chance to become a contender, but seem to have blown it...
CP/QP absent or pliant, beancounter running company, no real competent geological input it would appear. All IMHO; DYOR and GLTAH!
Great video and well worth watching.
Sadly nothing to do with either of the companies mentioned here, though AYM is probably much closer to getting involved in actual mining than KAV (snowball in hell).
Sector is great, it just needs a good new discovery, not endless recycling of marginal projects or shelf-stackers chasing white elephants in Africa etc....
Blimey, Arthur Tassell is still alive? Legend!
Really?
What's with the constant ramping on this company? Their most advanced project, whilst good, has been given away to PDM who will get 80% of it for a few hundred k expenditure and then be able to dilute FCM out with their next drill programme raise... This confirms the lack of actual managerial nouse - why give it away in the first place?
So, who is the real DOLT?
Management/board gush has same hype as PJ and mini-me BT but really. UK juniors can do so much better, surely.
The ramping on here makes it look even less attractive.
Sadly in reality the Namibian Co project is not really going to light any fires - it's been in the portfolio for ages, too low grade and likely unmineable anyway, most of all it's unlikely to float any boats before the inevitable happens and the licences are lost...
In practice it's relatively simple to delay/withhold results whilst still acting professionally: a really good hit, better than expected, will need the analyses to be verified, and it works the other way around, if your geo's told you it's a cracking visual intercept, but the assay results are pants, then back to the analysis rechecking prior to any dissemination of results.
The question then arises about who knows what and when and any internal "porosity"...
pXRF has changed the game and nowadays any base metals project manager has a good idea what's headed to the lab before anyone else...
Sadly, this project, whilst good has been given away (PDM will get 80% of it for a few hundred k expenditure and then be able to dilute FCM out with their next drill programme raise...) Ramping always interesting but the question remains:
Who is the real DOLT?
"It is noticeable kop has little idea of reality or knows what he is talking about."
Indeed. Except the issue is more whether you trust the guys like PJ, BT or MS to make money for YOU rather than for THEM. Personally was undecided and open to persuasion, but the last year has taught me the error of my ways.
Name of the game. GLTAH.
Seems to be like the classic accountant-led junior's strategy: rearrange the Titanic deckchairs, offload some, hope folk don't notice it's a one way trip...
FCM appear to have JV'd out their best project for peanuts, so those touting it as a £1 stock will have to have some serious luck. Penny stock more like.
IMHO, DYOR and good luck to holders, but "I'm out"
Classic RNS. Is Mr Sale saying something about shareholders when he uses "DOLT" for a project....
