on Aim we not only have to simply consider fundamentals and potential we also have the equally large issue of trying to determine trading strategies at times along with consideration of possible positions taken by 'groups' or MM's and or their clients, so attempting to ascertain the daily workings of who and what is a difficult task, however, an awareness of the various tactics that may be used can help us all rest a bit easier at times of 'stress' on the sp etc.
there are days when the mkt and sp runs freely on buys and sells, however, on liquid stocks there is always money to be made whatever way the market moves, and if you are in a position to control trades , limit buying/selling and don't have to declare your position you have a major advantage over everyone else...
We can't beat them but we can recognise the moves often, not every time, but more often than not....a falling sp challenges the best of us and is as much, in act more a part of trading, you cant call the bottom often in mid ranges so dont beat yourself up when on a paper loss, it's part of the 'game' and is where the fundamental view of a compay will see most through the test and equally one aspect I've learned is the MM's time frame for 'managing' an sp is ofen longer than we would prefer, buying/selling pressure (steady rising/falling sp) is frequently displayed a day(s) or week later on samller volumes than some of the busier days, so called keeping orderly market, but again a tactic that is not often recognised...and Peel on the ask is more often than not the brake on sp, as we have witnessed over the past year....
