JH77 I agree to a certain extent. To be fair Citijet was a poison chalice when she got the job and she did her best but they’re now doing well with an expanding portfolio of ACMI agreements despite problems with the SSJ100. Glad she didn’t get her rumoured way to replace the Dash with the not so “super” jet. As for the EasyJet rumour, I have good sources and they say nobody at all is talking about them; a total red herring. All talk is of the Virgin interest which is considered the best option for employees ie the one least likely to see the company broken up or significantly reshaped. Plus Virgin employees have been briefed on the talks with Flybe although they’ve not passed any specific details and managers have been told nothing. Most believe Stobart are the other interested party and that’s widely considered to be bad news as they’ve no money, no better management and likely to cut T’s & C’s, which would mean even more people leaving. The #1 threat to all airlines currently is pilot retention. IMO a Stobart takeover would in short order be a disaster.

Hi all, I’ve been following the Flybe BB for a long time but just observing as I’m a relative newbie to investing. I’ve got some genuine questions: 1. Could Delta be driving the Virgin bid in order to get a foothold into Europe? If they buy Flybe and keep for a couple of years, benefit from grandfather rights to the LHR slots, any losses they made would be covered making it surely a no-risk venture? 2. Could BACF buy Flybe and avoid the CC investigation regarding LHR slots? 3. Where is Sam? I cannot believe he wouldn’t have relished the last few weeks. Why all that posting then nothing when it appeared to follow his predictions?
