I've probably held shares in 7 or more companies over the years that have consolidated their shares and it's a practice that I think needs to end. If a company is poorly managed or under-performing then all that consolidation does is give them a higher share price from which to slide back down. A perfect example is Fastjet, converted shares from penny to pound and now back down to 1.625 pence. I really don't know how companies are allowed to get away with consolidations. They all say the same thing to convince shareholders, it will stabilise the price, attract larger investors etc. etc.
We certainly don't seem to be doing well that's for sure. Personally I'm disappointed with the choice of CEO coming in. I would have expected a more high profile person to lead something the size of Capita. From the RNS it's somebody who ran a large organisation for a year, but 1 year is not generally considered much experience when applying for a professional post. He may have spent spent much of that year just getting to grips with the company before it was taken over. I just hope he can deliver when he does take over.
I haven't seen any workout yet from something like 6 consolidations. All they do if give the market makers a hell of a lot more scope to drop the price daily, and most of us know that we've had more than our fair share of that here. Just a few examples: Fastjet did a 1000:1 consolidation to make a share price of £1, it's now at 16.25p LGO 20:1 recently and it's almost half the consolidated price already RBS is still below their consolidation price I've lost count of the others. Every time I see the same notes in the RNS; it will make the share price more attractive. Only good management, solid plans, progress and results make a company more attractive. The acquisition seems to make sense, but not the consolidation; I hate the idea. I would be interested to hear if anybody has had holdings in a company where a consolidation worked out.
It's pretty grim reading that's for sure.

I didn't notice any actual value. Usually it's about how many listeners there were. This time it shows an actual amount of money. That's a lot better in my opinion rather than just wondering what those download numbers equate amout to.
This is the first time I've noticed any revenue mentioned so it's a very positive sign in my view.
I am very tempted and would definitely have sold on Tuesday had I got a quote. These are my best performing shares and having sold half my holding a long while ago when the price was double what I paid, they haven't really cost me anything. This is a great company but I've been stung on some recent FTSE company buys and I could do with averaging down on some of those, otherwise I would hold firm here.
Couldn't get a price to sell this morning at about 8:20. I tried about 8 times and I didn't want to chance leaving the sell order with the dealers. I'd rather know what price I'm getting.
Sorry it's a late reply, I don't have time to post often. My buy price was higher than the offer price, so no point in selling at a loss, even buying them back again afterwards wouldn't have helped due to dealing fees. However usually you expect shares to be bought for cancellation which should send the price of the remaining shares higher eventually. It won't though if more shares are then being issued every month or so.
The company makes a big issue of buying back shares for cancellation and then issues a shed load more at below current price. That's like some sort of sick joke. It's certainly a good way to drive the price down. I haven't taken part in either of the tender offers, but I will next time. I'm disgusted at this move.
"...the lead time to a sale continues to be unpredictable" If they put out some positive news more often, like when a lead converts into a sale, the SP might actually go somewhere.
They've played around with it ever since I can remember. It's the same pattern over and over again for perhaps at least the past 7 years or more.
It’s encouraging to see that things are happening here. It was getting a bit boring waiting with no news. Good luck everybody.
I'm guessing that it could be something to do with the COMS price steadily dropping over recent weeks and the link with the same director. Investors may be a bit jittery about the share performance. Just a guess that's all. I'm in both shares so this is not intended to be negative for either company.
