RE: News due surely9 Oct 2025 19:53
It's worth watching back the interview with Gil after the Africa Oil exit - the "share buy-back". Gil pointed (more than once) to the reduced share count resulting in a bigger impact on deals and drilling that were to come, i.e. everything else other than Block 3B/4B.
He ended the interview by speaking about Eco being "in the process of discussing Guyana - "hopefully finalising a certain deal that will allow us to drill a well during 2025", then straight away mentions Exxon going ahead with Hammerhead and the very positive effect of that on Joe and Jethro.
I'm firmly in the Exxon deal camp, with the delay announcing it due to it being a much bigger deal than a simple farm in. I know harel said earlier that he was sure Exxon were out. Where is harel these days!?
I feel that Gil was confident of this deal back then and that was one reason for structuring the exit of Africa Oil in the way it was done.
