@harryhbarlow I was looking for something else in the chat last week and found this tips topic instead. I followed your selections for a few days and was interested in the overall results. Particularly the lay selections. You're good at selecting horses that look good on paper but don't perform on the day. I backed a few of your win selections yesterday including Law Supreme at 10.5 on the Betfair Exchange which won. Now I've got the funds I might have a go on a lay selection.

@PharmaD, LSE have planted a video into the watchlists. I can't block it with my AdBlocker. It is using resource making the watchlists worse on laptop and even more so on mobile phone.

You can't change the name of ECM to RS1. You can add RS1 to your watchlist and keep or delete ECM.

I noticed this as well. By closing browser tabs it appears the LSE watchlist tab was using the CPU, often to 100%. I posted this recently in a thread 'Watchlist is using high percentage of my laptop CPU?'.

It was passed to LSE technical. No reply yet though.

I think that it's due to the number of companies in the watchlists and only when they are updating prices. Something controls this on the page, for example a timer, which runs for a certain time after page load or until the page loses focus. Then the CPU use will drop.

I've noticed over the last few months that my CPU is running in the 80 - 90 % usage when I have a browser tab on the LSE watchlists. The fan is running nearly all of the time and task manager shows high or very high power usage for the browser process. If I click on a company ticker the tab will take 10 seconds or so to open and longer to load the page details. If I navigate away from the watchlist or close the tab the CPU drops to around 20%.

I have 177 companies in 8 watchlists. As all of the companies are checking for changes to price and trades information am I just expecting too much?

The CPU is an AMD 6 dual core 2.6GHz.

Can I search for 'watchlists' so that I don't have to read the title of every topic on the boards?
