Hi Matty. The stock purchased in a buy back are from open market, no one is forced to sell. Buying back reduces the stock in circulation therefor increasing value whilst reducing stock available to buyers so also increasing price asked. Some would argue "what about my divis?" My stance on dividends is no thank you. Divis only give you your own money back and reduce Co value. Divis to me are showing that a Co has run out of ways to spend profits so has reached max potential. If income is needed just sell a few shares is my view. ATB Speedy
Hi SAS. I have seen many many Cos fail due to too much debt. Taking loans with discounted rates only to be sent into insolvency when higher rates make servicing impossible. This is not really a problem for GGP, if debt is the route, as the loan should only be short term, but best to be cautious.
Higher rates are a headwind for the POG but there are so many other tailwinds that the direction for the POG is much higher from here. ATB Speedy
Hi SAS. You need to screw your neck back in. This is just a debate about the possible funding routes that SD could take and at no time are we painting a bleak picture. I am convinced that gold is going higher thereby increasing profits when producing but we are not yet producing and will need funds to buy back the farm. Not much else to discuss at the moment while we wait for news. ATB Speedy
Hi Matty. Not if stock is bought back with excess cash flow. Debt is ok with low rates but no one knows if rates will go into the teens or even higher. I am no expert on high finance but SD is and i assume he will do the best deal. ATB Speedy
Hi Malva. I have always preferred equity over debt and with current interest rates even more so. Having said that, the idea of short term debt to get to production then an equity raise makes good sense. I am sure SD has all bases covered to achieve the best deal for all. ATB Speedy
Hi Red. That is the big question. The RNS announcing 100% Hav and Telfer ownership deal for (insert 1 of 20 possible funding parameters) along with the FS and DTM, will "blow the bloody doors of" Just for fun 1st Sept. ATB Speedy.
Hi All. The shift from tech/financial stock to miners is going to lift producers into the stratosphere. On paper it seems as though Culpepper made the right decision in moving from GGP to Newmont. Some serious moves recently in Newmont stock is showing the way forward. However, i think Newmont stock will only show a good return whilst GGP will show massive returns. The problem with selling GGP to take advantage of other opportunities is the potential of missing the boat when GGP sets sail. For me now it is just a matter of sitting back and waiting for the coming rebound. ATB Speedy
Hi Sharket mare. The traders are fully aware of the uncertainty and the effect it has on the SP. If it is not Actus it is others and the short will end as news and certainty comes in. Not long to wait is my bet. ATB Speedy
Hi. Sharketmare. That 27mil was from 10th Jan , not a massive position but with such a low daily volume it can have an influence. Be interesting to see the present position, i suspect a lot bigger. What is more important is why and who for. If they were short for trading profit they would have entered the market in the teens not at 8p. Acting for Elliot and Biswas maybe?
Hi JSP. Many thanks for the time and effort you have put in for the benefit of others. The positioning of institutions is eye opening. Be good to see Actus drop off the list. ATB Speedy
Hi All. This small set back in the POG should be used to acquire some physical gold. Buying the dips and trading on the highs is great but it is all about timing. I had a sell order at $2450 and just missed it. I have now removed this order in expectation of a much higher POG coming our way, sell order at $2550? I use this trading purely for fun and a bit of beer money and will always buy back on a pull back from the high.
I never ever trade GGP stock, just hold for my sell price. My sell price has always been 40p to take out my stake and hold most for a free ride. 40p could come in short order with news and/or a further find. The continuing massive bull run in the POG will see GGP stock, as a producer, reach highs that most will deem impossible. ATB Speedy
Hi Freddie. You have got it the wrong way round, we are one day nearer. ATB Speedy
Hi Aim Et Al. One day soon you and your shorting bosses will have to throw in the towel as news and buys over runs your position. You have earned your profits, best to close now and bank it. Speedy
Hi Jerry. $3k is probable $19k is possibly possible so $10k is possible and my calcs for an SP of £5 is possible. It will take a lot of ducks lining up but never say never. There are many examples of miners experiencing absolutely massive gains in gold bull runs and GGP are in an exceptional position to achieve those gains. ATB Speedy
H Doubting tom. Leave the bad odes to Mapp. Speedy
Hi All. I made a massive mistake in my post at 17:32. I said a "leverage effect of x 2" to reach an SP of £5. Well let me tell you the leverage effect should read as much as x 8. I dare not put that SP in print as it will be seen as ramping by some, so you do the math. ATB Speedy
Hi JerseyCrew. I prefer to keep things simple. My thinking is 20p to 40p at production with things as they are. With a POG at $10k that is x 5 then the leverage achieved for mining x2 allow for a change in sentiment and £5 is not a pipe dream. Bring in 100% and an increased ore size and another find and all bets are off. ATB Speedy
Hi MH. You have your opinions and some have other. You keep on trying to dismiss the possibilities of an SP of £5. I have laid out the route to this fig more than once to you. It is not, i repeat, not ramping just an exercise in the possibilities of the effect on miners SP due to a POG at $10k/oz.
As i said you have you opinions but please read and understand the context of my post rather than trying to belittle my opinions. ATB Speedy
Hi EMC2. Now thats what i call positive thinking. A streamlined Newmont along with a POG re rate and my calculator is too small. ATB Speedy
Hi Joubert. Looking at a 100 year chart for the purchasing power of fiat ( in multiple currencies) v gold, shows that fiat has already collapsed average 98%. Central banks will do all in their criminal power to continue the farce that is the present system. The death of the USA $ and all other linked currencies is happening as we speak. The rise in the POG over time is not due to the value of the (suppressed) POG rising but the value (purchasing power) of fiat falling. This fall is hidden with the word INFLATION and is accepted by the blind ignorance of many as acceptable.
Time has proven that one of the best ways to safeguard against the erosion of wealth by inflation is to hold physical gold.
I must add it is good to have a sensible debate for a change. ATB Speedy
