I was chatting to a friend the other day who has just started investing about a month ago

He was asking me about the short position on boohoo - he said the shorters who opened positions at 200p (as the majority of shorts opened above this) could make another 25 percent if the share went from 44p down to 35p... I laughed and explained that to make 25 percent on that you would have to open at 44p and not 200p..

Those that opened at 200p would make approx 6.5 percent on a drop from 44p to 35p...

He still couldn't get the jist of it...

Imagine people saying boohoo isn't a growth stock...

Can anyone tell me what sports direct profit was the last year...??? Or loss should i say....

Companies regularly make a loss then swing back to profit.... Sport's direct has had many a bad year!!

Kf I don't follow asos I merely glanced at their rns after you posted about it this morning.....

Now regarding boohoo I believe their revenue will be above 3 billion within 2 year's and they will be showing a pbt of 200 to 250 million... I believe this will warrant a sp of 600p plus... The current recession could prolong this time frame though.

Boohoo offers far better margins than asos as well.

Interesting as we are above Monday's opening price so it hasn't hit boohoo at all....

T4g i don't know why people keep putting such a big emphasis on asos anyway tbh....

Look at their growth vs boohoo.... Boohoo will over take asos within the next 5 years... The business models are completely different...

Asos pbt guidance is 20 to 60 million....

The news story came out on the weekend which means the market was closed so effectively everyone had the information at the same time....

Obviously some people do get the information before the market but those people are classed as insiders and are bound by rules... Rules that obviously do get broken though

Can you give some examples of him "killing small caps".....

Was he short on say ocado?

Also those results may be at the bottom end of analysts expectations.... But they may be well above shorters expectations!!

People seem to forget that asos and boohoo are already trading at a huge discount.... They can't just keep falling.... There is a bottom....

Go and have a look at jtans incessant whining on other shares lol.... Shorts don't matter on his shares apparently lol...

Wibble the highstreet has declined every year for the last decade and it will continue.... It will never reverse... Eventually they will be just a place to get a coffee or food...
