However the lies around shein have now been addressed which is good.

So with the below in mind we can guess that Shein has a net margin across the whole company of 1.25%.... Not quite up to peepees magic numbers...

"They may well be working the tax angle but the main reason will simply be that that most of the costs that appear AFTER the gross profit line for BOO etc. are included BEFORE the gross profit line for Shein in the UK as it is presumably only the UK costs that appear after it in the UK profit and loss. The gross profit line will include an 'appropriate' share of the admin and distribution costs in China that wouldn't otherwise appear in UK only costs. In others words the overall profit should be similar (because of transfer pricing rules) but how it is presented (in particular the split between gross and net profit) will be very different."

Over here in BOO's core market, it is most certainly a recently arrived UPSTART yes."

Shein have been operating in the uk for over 13 years - that's a fact. It doesn't fit the narrative they're taking over though does it when you consider boohoos uk revenue is stronger.

Also are you suggesting that shein is breaking laws in the year it potentially wishes to ipo!?....

Go and read the latest full year results.... Boohoo uk revenue is over a billion. And full group revenue is way over 1.4 billion.

Let's workshop this. So Shein sell a top for £3 - of this they give the vat man £0.50 and then make 2.34% on the £2.50 after they have shipped it from China - so 5.85p."

Shein in its current state is even a viable business without constant funding rounds and dilution for shareholder's, imagine if they have to start paying proper wages to the poor staff eh?!.... They would need to near on double the price per item to get to a reasonable gross margin!! Eh?!

Tell us what it needs to do and how it will do it?

Tell us what it will need to do to it's prices?

How many staff will shein need in the uk need to run distribution centres like boohoo have in the uk?

Or is shein going to all of the above on a 2 percent gross margin?

It's interesting to see people that have been calling boohoo slave trader's have no issue with shein paying 3p per garment... Moral compass broken eh?!

Also poster's that have been saying revenue means nothing that are now today all of a sudden interested in revenue.....

Shein's uk revenue is now just over a billion and making just 12 million profit while using all the tax loop holes it can?! Doesn't sound great when put into perspective.

Shein was also founded in 2008 and was posting to the rest of the world inc the uk from 2011....

Im not retired wolf and probably never will unless forced to by illness... I've got a decent company affording me a good life for not that much work... I'll milk that cow as long as I can!
