My sister in law, used to go to very cold places and take ice core samples and analyze them for CO2 etc. etc., and, she said that in past millennia (pre man) you had rapid variations in sea level (sigmoid curve type temp. changes) that happened over a short period of time (a few years). All interesting stuff.
The sea level is rising again, there is a raised beach (post second ice age, but, pre human anthracite burning) near where I live that is approx 3 meters above present high water. The planet is certainly not dying, but is in a permanent flux re temp. What major cities are in trouble if we get a 3 meter sea level rise (in the main caused by unstoppable natural phenomena) ?
A bit for me at this price. Anthracite, you got to love it.

""Investec has downgraded its recommendation on banking group Standard Chartered (LON:STAN) to hold from buy, despite stating that it regards the shares to be cheap but then added that it sees much clearer value elsewhere in the sector. The broker went further and advised investors to switch into buy rated Virgin Money (LON:VM.) ahead of its third-quarter interim management statement, due on 15 October, which it expects will prompt a positive share price reaction.""
A small punt for me.
